Those stadium hot dogs, they’ll get ya…
A scary scene unfolded at Madison Square Garden last night during a game between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat when comedian Tracy Morgan vomited while sitting courtside and had to be taken off the court in a wheelchair.

(There are also photos and videos going around of the comedian vomiting while sitting in his seat, but honestly I don’t feel the need to share those – especially now that we know it was a medical issue and not just him having too much to drink during a basketball game).
The incident delayed the game for around 10 minutes as medics tended to Tracy, and left fans worried about the legendary comedian.
But Tracy shared an update this morning, posting a photo of himself giving the thumbs up from his hospital bed while informing fans that doctors determined he was suffering from food poisoning. The comedian even joked that the Knicks are undefeated when he vomits on the court – so maybe he’ll have to pull out the trick again in the future:
“Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning. Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!
More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs.”
You love to see it.
Fans were especially concerned about the former SNL cast member and 30 Rock star because he’s been known to have suffered from medical issues in the past.
Back in 1996, Morgan was diagnosed with diabetes, and in 2010 underwent a kidney transplant that was necessitated by his medical condition. And in 2014, the comedian was seriously injured during a traffic accident on his way home from a show when his van was rear-ended by a tractor trailer, causing a broken femur, broken nose, a traumatic brain injury, and several broken ribs.
In 2023, after fans commented on his healthy appearance, the comedian revealed that he had lost weight using Ozempic, later saying that the weight loss drug “did great” for him and that he was “glad to use it.”
Of course the latest medical episode had fans concerned that something else was going on with Tracy that we didn’t know about, with many referencing the late Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020 from cancer four years after being diagnosed despite the diagnosis not being known to the public until after his death.
Luckily it doesn’t sound like that’s the case here, and according to Morgan it was just a simple case of food poisoning catching up with him at the worst possible time. Hopefully he’s able to get back to a Knicks game soon – something Madison Square Garden said they would welcome:
