The first piece of news from Zach Bryan that connects to the breakup allegations.
I am sure everyone reading this has been following along about Zach Bryan’s breakup with his Barstool ex-girlfriend, Brianna Chickenfry. After taking a short social media hiatus, the public breakup went from civil to messy very quickly when Brianna returned to the public eye and dropped bombs on her tell-all BFFs Podcast episode.
She painted their relationship as toxic, claiming that ZB asked her to sign an NDA in exchange for $12 million (yes, MILLION) and detailing an instance where he got mad at her for her Golden Globe outfit choice and for singing the lyrics of a Morgan Wallen song.
Brianna also revealed on the podcast that after they broke up, Zach asked her to return a Ford Bronco he had bought for her, even after she offered to pay him for it. Dave advised Brianna to make sure that her name was on the vehicle’s title because if it was, it was a gift. Therefore, he could not take it. However, according to a video Bri posted after the podcast episode, she disclosed the car was not the only thing ZB took – he took their cat, Stump.
Brianna claims that after they broke up, Zach kept Stump “out of spite” and jokingly asked her followers to kidnap the cat and return him to her.
“I miss Stump so much. I wanna fucking kidnap him. But when he left and didn’t tell me anything he just took Stump out of spite. He didn’t even like cats, Jack hates cats, Boston loves cats, I love cats. Can someone steal the cat back for me?
I’m not joking; the animals throughout this have been one of the hardest parts. I just think about Boston and Jack. And Stump. I think about Stump every night.”

Today, Zach Bryan posted an image with Stump, confirming that he has the cat in Oklahoma. Zach Bryan shared two Instagram stories with his pets, the first being a video of him throwing the ball with his dog, Jack. The chocolate lab is running through the crunched leaves, and ZB captioned the post:
“Last fetch before our last tour run ever. Proud of you, big boy.”
The next slide shows the light-colored cat sitting behind Zach Bryan’s shoulders, and the caption reads:
“You too, ol stump cat, best shoulder parrot around.”

Granted that the pair found Stump when they were together, it’s hard to figure out custody of who this cat rightfully belongs to. When they were a couple, ZB and Bri found Stump, a six-toed feral cat, in a tree stump in Oklahoma and added him to their collection of pets. Brianna also adopted two cats before the relationship, Mango and Ollie, and a dog named Boston. As for Zach, he has a dog named Jack, the adorable chocolate lab he posts about often.
I can’t imagine the heartbreak of having to process the end of a relationship along with the loss of a beloved pet. At least fans got this update, and Stump looks like a happy cat.
