Justice for Stump.
As we learn more and more about the messy breakup between Zach Bryan and Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry, it seems like the entire internet is Team Bri on this one.
Of course we haven’t heard Zach’s side yet, as he’s remained largely silent on the split other than his initial post announcing the breakup after screenshots began going around of his profile on celebrity dating app Raya:
“Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.
I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be.
Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
But after turning down $12 MILLION to sign a non-disclosure agreement, Brianna (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia) has been telling her side of the story – and it’s not pretty for Zach.
On a bombshell episode of her BFFs podcast last week, Brianna painted a picture of the country singer as emotionally abusive and jealous, claiming that he even smashed her phone while in a rage and once got mad at her for singing a Morgan Wallen song in their apartment.
Based on her stories, the internet has largely been on Brianna’s side in the split, including her two podcast co-hosts Josh Richards and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who released a Zach Bryan diss track called “Smallest Man” that has taken over on TikTok.
(And I gotta admit, it’s pretty catchy).
Brianna also revealed on the podcast that after they broke up, Zach asked her to return the Ford Bronco that he had bought for her, even after she offered to pay him for it so that she could keep her car. (Portnoy said that he also offered to buy it, but wanted to make sure that it was in Brianna’s name before simply paying Zach $80,000).
But it sounds like the car isn’t the only thing Zach took after the breakup.
In a TikTok video, Brianna says that the country singer also kept the cat, Stump, that the two adopted during their relationship – despite the fact that he doesn’t like cats.
The couple found Stump, a six-toed feral cat, in a tree stump in Oklahoma and added him to their collection of pets. Along with Stump, Brianna also had two cats that she adopted before the relationship named Mango and Ollie, as well as a dog named Boston. For his part, Zach also has a dog named Jack.
Brianna says that after they split, Zach kept Stump “out of spite,” and even jokingly asks her followers to kidnap the beloved cat and return him to her:
“I miss Stump so much. I wanna fucking kidnap him. But when he left and didn’t tell me anything he just took Stump out of spite. He didn’t even like cats, Jack hates cats, Boston loves cats, I love cats. Can someone steal the cat back for me?
I’m not joking, the animals throughout this have been one of the hardest parts. I just think about Boston and Jack. And Stump. I think about Stump every night.”
Let’s just hope Stump doesn’t start meowing any Morgan Wallen songs.
