Lainey Wilson always doing her part to make fans feel special.
Over the years, bringing signs into concert has become a wildly popular trend. From signs telling the artist on stage that it’s their first concert, asking them to let them join in on a song, or just being humorous, there are always signs in the crowd during concerts these days. While it’s easy for an artist not to pay attention to these signs and go on through their set as planned, Lainey Wilson always makes a point to acknowledge a sign or two during her shows.
While some fans only have their signs read out loud, like the recent man who told Wilson she was his hall pass, Wilson goes the extra mile to acknowledge fans who write potent messages on their poster boards. Wilson also does an incredible job of empowering young girls who bring in signs to her show.
Wilson spotted an exceptionally powerful sign from the crowd at the most recent show in Rogers, Arkansas, at the Walmart Amp. A young girl held up a sign with a “to-do” style list, two of which were checked off. Wilson pulled the fan on stage and read it out loud to the audience as she checked off the last two items on her list.
“Do you want to hold it up for them? Her to-do list is to beat cancer; she did! Beat cancer again; she did! Meet Lainey Wilson; she did it! Sing with Lainey; she’s about to do it y’all.”
The girl stands on stage with her sign as Wilson takes a marker, checks off the last two items, and signs the poster. While the crowd cheers for this girl who has overcome so much, the intro to Miranda Lambert’s “Kerosene” plays in the background.
Wilson takes the girl’s hand and walks her down to the front of the stage before pausing to dive into the hit 2005 song. Wilson serenades the girl, but honestly, the fan looks like she would’ve instead been singing “Watermelon Moonshine” with the artist. Don’t get me wrong… I would rather be on stage, than be picky about what song I’d get to sing with my favorite artist. But, judging by this girl’s age, she looks like she was born many years after 2005, making it a hard choice for her to sing along to. Then again, maybe nerves just got the best of her… it’s quite the sight to be up on stage looking at that many people.
After the song, Lainey Wilson gives her a big bear hug and talks to her for a second on stage, more than likely passing on words of encouragement to the impressionable fan.
No doubt about it, Lainey Wilson gave her a moment she will never forget. Lainey Wilson is hands down one of the best in the game when interacting with fans during concerts and you have to love the way she empowers young girls each night on stage.
Check it out.
