That’s one helluva way to spend your Tuesday night.
Last night, Tyler Childers performed an intimate show at Georgetown, Kentucky’s Country Boy Brewing. The show had little publicity and sold a limited number of tickets, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
And turns out, it was a full circle moment for Timmy Tyler:
“Country Boy Brewing met Tyler Childers for the first time when he played a UK Craft Beer Conference pre-party in our Lexington brewery on February 14, 2014.
A lot of songs, years, and beers later, we are still friends. When Tyler asked us to host this livestream that was near and dear to his heart, we jumped at the chance because that’s what friends do.”
Childers took the intimate crowd to church as he performed in the middle of the brewery, even bringing pieces from his stage set up to the small crowd. He was sure the iconic TV and the Food Stamps were on stage with him.
The homecoming show was filled with die-hard fans, and the brewery roared with Childers as he sang each word. They were a respectful crowd, knowing when to sit and listen to his craft and belting out the lyrics alongside him at the perfect times. With the setlist opening up with “Shake The Frost,” fans were in for a special night as he performed songs from his entire discography and pulled out some he doesn’t typically perform, like “Honky Tonk Flame.”
Seeing Childers in an intimate setting like this transports you back to 2017 when he belted out lyrics to a packed venue at Basement or Exit In in Nashville. He knows how to captivate a crowd, no matter the size.
