Everyone knows that going to a live event of any kind these days is going to cost you a pretty penny.
I saw Luke Combs at Commanders Field a few months back and was paying like $18 for semi-cold Bud Lights and my credit card company loved me after putting down a bunch of $7 Miller Lite cans at the wild Koe Wetzel and Treaty Oak Revival concert in DC a couple months ago. Heck, I saw a Phillies game the other day and actually refused to buy a beer when I saw domestic 16-ounce cans going for $15…
But one college football program is offering their fans the best deal I’ve potentially ever seen.
Troy University may not be the best football team in Alabama but they sure as heck give you the most bang for your buck. A post online is going viral showing them selling Busch Light and Natty Light cans for just two bucks.
You’d be hard pressed to find many dive bars giving you prices that low and people sure are giving them the credit they deserve.
But what made me even happier seeing this is the price of their other concessions.
Turns out, besides a cup of cheese to dunk fries in, beer is the cheapest thing they offer. A bottle of water is 150% more expensive than a beer ($5) and that is the type of strategic prioritization that I can get behind. The more beers the better the time and you really only need one bottle of water to get through a game unless you’re a sissy or had too many shots of that random liquor from a water bottle at the tailgate.
Judging from the replies, I’m not in the slightest alone with loving everything about Troy’s concession strategy.
