Josh Abbott sure knows how to write a love song, and his latest release is no exception.
The Josh Abbott Band has been an absolute force in Texas since the release of their debut EP Brushy Creek in 2009, and on the national country music scene since their debut record She Likes Texas dropped in 2010.
A talented lyricist and vocalist with a killer backing band, Abbott’s catalog has something for everyone, both content-wise and sonically. Many of his songs over the years have become Lone Star anthems that are rooted in his home state of Texas yet resonate with listeners all across the country, with a few of those becoming transcendental in their impact on the scene along the way.
Abbott particularly has a knack for writing love songs that fans grasp onto, and he’s continued that streak with his most recent single. Titled “Fan of You,” Abbott’s new track is a heartfelt ode to his wife, Taylor, right on time for her birthday.
