You could live like Dolly Parton… for a pretty penny.
The country superstar was born in raised in the mountains of east Tennessee, and her incredible country music career has taken her all over the world. For a years, she had different homes in California, as she starred in Hollywood films like “9 to 5” (1980), “The Best Little W********* in Texas” (1982), and my personal favorite, “Steel Magnolias” (1989).
And you could live in her West Hollywood home, as according to Realtor.com, it’s up for rent… for a whopping $12,000 a month.
She purchased the two-bedroom, two-bathroom property in 2007 for $1.2 million, though she never lived there full-time. Dolly listed it in 2014, though records show that it never actually sold until 2023. The home is over 100 years old and is over 1,000 square feet, and it’s being listed by Richard Schulman of KW Westside Estates.
It’s close to popular areas on Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, and it’s an absolutely beautiful home, which still has many nods to Dolly with little butterflies all over as part of the decor.
There is also a chef’s kitchen fit for a star, and the listing explains:
“Inside, the open-concept living area is filled with natural light and stylish finishes, flowing into an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and designer tile.”
There is a decent amount of outdoor space, and even though it’s in a very private area, it’s also close to everything you could want:
“This coveted neighborhood is known for its walkability, creative energy, and long-standing ties to entertainment and cultural history. This exceptional home offers privacy, character, and proximity to some of LA’s most celebrated destinations—an ideal retreat for those relocating, renovating, or seeking a refined and historic place to call home.”
The house used to be an Airbnb, which apparently featured the original furniture and décor that Dolly personally owned, making it an incredibly cool piece of music and entertainment history. Dolly also recently listed her former cottage in Solvang, California, for $2 million, which is another charming and Dolly property.
Dolly has always maintained a primary residence in her home state of Tennessee, but it’s clear she’s acquired quite an extensive and beautiful real estate portfolio all over the country, and you can check out the photos of her former West Hollywood home below.
