A mysterious countdown clock has shown up on Garth Brooks’ website… and there’s a little over a week left on the timer.
Anytime a countdown clock pops up on an artist’s website, it almost always leads to some sort of announcement. For Garth Brooks, that could either mean new music, or a new tour. It’s been quite some time since the “Callin’ Baton Rouge” singer has toured across the country, and he teased tour dates earlier this year… so the timer could be counting down to when Garth let’s everyone know when he’s going out on the road.
The 64-year-old country star last brought his music to the masses with his Stadium Tour, which played its final show in the fall of 2022. Garth’s Las Vegas residency – Garth Brooks/Plus ONE – followed after that, but even that wrapped in July of 2024. All that to say, it certainly seems like it’s time for the aging artist to return to touring, and from what’s been going on with Garth’s website, it feels like that could be the case.
In case you didn’t know, Garth Brooks mainly breaks news about himself or anything that he’s doing through his official website – garthbrooks.com. The country music star evidently likes to control the narrative, and Brooks has been doing that through posts on the “News/Headlines” tab of his personal website.
The story that was shared through the site that first shed a light on a new tour was titled “New Year, New Music, New Tour. It’s All On The Table In 2026!” It opened with the cheesy line of “Some artists make resolutions. Garth Brooks makes moves.” If you can comb through the cheesiness of it all, all signs are pointing towards Brooks releasing some new music and going on tour in 2026.
He provided this quote back in January, and now that we are nearing the beginning of July, we’re getting to that “second half” of the year that Brooks alluded to:
“I’m an artist, I HAVE to make music. And I’m an entertainer, so I HAVE to take the music to the people…My bride is touring through the first half of the year. Then we will see what may be waiting for us in the second half.’ With new music, new dates, and endless possibilities ahead, 2026 is already warming up — and nothing’s off the table.”
If I’m reading that all right, a Garth Brooks tour – and new music from the country star – is imminent.
And if you take a look at Garth’s website now, there’s a big ol’ countdown clock right on the main page. The only clue country fans have for what it could be? That’d be this line that sits just above the ticking timer:
“The Future Is About To Become History”
If you do the math, that countdown will be going all the way until July 7 at 7:00 a.m., which means Garth is lining up all of the sevens (July is also the seventh month of the year) to make an announcement.
It’ll almost undoubtedly be an announcement of new music, or a new tour… or both. Maybe it’s when he finally reveals where he’s hiding the bodies? Regardless, if you call yourself a fan of Garth Brooks, go ahead and set a reminder of the morning of July 7. That’s when we’ll all find out what exactly Brooks means by the “future becoming history.”
