It’s hard to imagine an artist having a better year than Morgan Wallen had in 2025. Riding the highs of his fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, the Tennessee native broke all sorts of records. In addition to dethroning Garth Brooks and becoming the highest-selling country artist of all time (3rd all-genre), Wallen also scored the most-listened-to album on Apple Music globally, the #1 most-listened-to album in the U.S. on Spotify and became the second male country artist in history to be named Billboard’s Top Artist of the Year, beating out the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny and more.
Though he’s been dominating just about every single streaming service and chart imaginable, he’s been particularly dominant on Apple Music. In addition to the aforementioned most-listened-to album nod last year with I’m The Problem, Wallen also led all artists with the most entries on their year-end Top 100 Global Songs of 2025 list with a staggering 12 tracks, including the likes of “I’m The Problem,” “Love Somebody,” “Just In Case” and more. In turn, he beat out the likes of global superstars, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Drake, Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift and more.
This morning, Apple Music and Chart Data, X’s (formerly Twitter) leading chart data source, teamed up to slowly reveal Apple Music’s Top 20 most-streamed artists in the history of the streaming platform.
Wallen was ultimately named the eight most streamed artist in the history of Apple Music, being the only country artist present on the list. A bit surprisingly, he beat out global superstars and all-genre giants such as Kanye West, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and his “I Had Some Help” duet partner, Post Malone.
Though the list has yet to be finalized, as of writing, both The Weeknd and Lil Baby slotted in above Wallen at #7 and #6, respectively. As for other artists who are likely to make appearances, Drake, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Rhianna and Billie Eilish are likely to help round out the Top 5.
As always, you can love or hate Wallen, his musical output and his off-stage shenanigans. However, you can never deny the sheer staying power and success he’s experienced over the course of the decade. Taking a look at the staggering amount of top spots he’s taken not only in country music but in all-genre charts as well, it’s becoming more and more apparent that the “20 Cigarettes” singer has become nothing short of a phenomenon. It’s likely we’ll never see another artist with such an undeniable chokehold over the genre, streaming as a whole and the charts quite the way Wallen has.
