Post Malone Says Double Album, Which He Canceled First Month Of Stadium Tour To Work On, Is “99% Done”

I guess he put that extra down time to good use.

This week, Post Malone officially kicked off his Big Ass Stadium Tour, which made tons of headlines not long ago, because he canceled the first month of shows including opening night in El Paso as well as stops at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas; Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama; Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida; and Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.

Last year, Post took Jelly Roll on the road with him for the first iteration of the Big Ass Stadium Tour, and it was a massive success, but since Post made the decision to cancel the first month of this year’s show, there’s been a lot of talk about ticket sales, citing the seemingly large number of tickets available for some of the shows when the decision to pull the plug was made. Of course, there’s a lot of reasons for that… I mean, have you seen the economy and gas prices lately? It’s no wonder people can’t afford to go to concerts.

Post cited the cancellations as necessary to finish his next country album, which he teased on Instagram as a two-album project called The Eternal Buzz, and is seemingly coming very soon:

But after all the controversy over the initial cancellations, it looks like the first night went incredibly well, when Post told the Charlotte, North Carolina at Bank of America stadium last night that his new album is “99% done,” and he “can’t wait” for everyone to hear it soon:

“I understand it’s been a minute since new music. This new record is 99% f****** done, and I can’t wait for everybody to f****** listen to it very soon.”

He also acknowledged just how many people filled the stadium to come see him, thanking all of the fans for being there:

and you know, t’s been a whole bit, I suppose, but this looks like a f******* stadium full of beautiful people and I can’t say thank you enough ladies and gentlemen.”

If there were low ticket sales at some of the other stops that got canceled, you wouldn’t know that was an issue by looking at this crowd:

Regardless of what the reasons for canceling the first group of shows on this tour, it sounds like Post used his extra time to get to work and we should be getting some sort of announcement on a release date and more details of that nature very soon… stay tuned.
