“I’d Just Be Fly Fishing”: Ryan Bingham Says He Had The Easiest Job On ‘Yellowstone’

Walker Yellowstone

Sounds like Ryan Bingham was living the dream while he was on Yellowstone.

The New Mexico-born, Texas-raised actor and country artist played “Walker” in the hit western drama. If you ever tuned in to the show and thought to yourself, “Man, it looks like Ryan Bingham is having the time of his life,” it’s because he was. While he was a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience, he shared that he truly believes he had one of the best gigs in all of television playing Walker on the hit Taylor Sheridan show:

“It was so much fun. I laugh… I was talking about it, I kind of felt like I had one of the easiest jobs there. The character was kind of a smaller role. Most of the time I’d work one or two days a week. The rest of the time, I’d just be fly fishing and getting lost in mountains. I’d just disappear out there. It was awesome.”

Yeah… that’s what you call a “dream job.” And no wonder Bingham shined any time he was on screen. He was literally living the Yellowstone life while he was out there.

While he was out in Montana shooting the show, he quickly realized why so many people enjoy it out there… and why so many Montana citizens try to gatekeep the state. It’s been well-documented that Montanans aren’t crazy about the influx of people moving to their state because of the popularity of Yellowstone (Luke Grimes has his own story about that).

Bingham gave a few tips to those thinking about relocating to the state:

“You better take your listen plate off your car before you (move there). You better not (have a California plate).”

Bingham says that because he used to be a California resident that did explore moving to Montana at one point. He’s currently in the process of moving to Dallas, Texas area instead… where he says residents are more open to outsiders.

You can hear the actor and country music artist – who will soon release a new album titled They Call Us The Lucky Onestalk more about his Yellowstone role in the interview below:

Oh, and if you’ve never seen Ryan Bingham play live, make sure to go check him out. If you have seen him… go support him again.

He’s one of the most underrated acts in all of country music right now, and he could be coming to a town near you.
