‘The Madison’ Renewed For A Third Season Ahead Of Season 2 Premiere

The Madison

Continuing to give the fans what they want long before they know what lies ahead in the plot.

If you’re deep in the Taylor Sheridan universe, then there is a high chance that you have already binged the masterpiece that is Taylor Sheridan’s latest series, The Madison.

It was originally planned as a Yellowstone spinoff, but it was confirmed to be released after the series premiere. The show was described as the Yellowstone creator’s most intimate work… or as Kurt Russell put it, “female gaze-oriented.”

It tells a story that explores grief and human connection. As far as the plot is concerned, the series revolves around the titular character of Stacy Clyburn (played by Michelle Pfeiffer), a wealthy matriarch who upends her life in New York City to move her and her family to Montana following a plane crash that kills her husband (played by Kurt Russell) and brother-in-law. The show is slow, serene, steady, heartbreaking yet heartwarming, and, of course, features a little bit of drama.

The show was a massive hit, making it the biggest streaming launch of Taylor Sheridan’s career. According to Paramount+ (which used numbers from Luminate), The Madison achieved massive ratings in its first 10 days of availability. In a little over a week, the series starring Pfeiffer and Russell brought in 8 million viewers.

Sheridan must have known it was going to do numbers, as it was renewed for a second season before the series even hit Paramount+, which is almost unheard of for a show. But it was a strategic move on Sheridan’s part as he filmed Seasons 1 and 2 at the same time (or one right after the other).

They began filming the series in Montana in August of 2024, and sources say they also shot more for the spinoff in North Texas in November and December of 2024. Production on Season 2 began in October of 2025 and wrapped filming in December. That is according to an Instagram stories post from Elle Chaps (who is featured in the cast), shared back on December 20, 2025, that The Madison had wrapped filming:

“And that’s a wrap on Season 2. Heart is full.”

The Madison update

And if you’ve seen Season 1, you know it ends on quite a cliffhanger, leading one to believe there will be a quick turnaround before Season 2 is shared with fans.

While there isn’t a date set for the Season 2 premiere at the time of writing, viewers of the show are again hoping this series will feature quick turnarounds, as Paramount+ has already renewed the show for a third season, as reported by Deadline and confirmed on the show’s social media pages.

“The journey continues…❤️ The Madison is renewed for Season 3!”

The Madison show is defying the norms of TV series renewals and setting a new standard. I hope we get a premiere date for Season 2 shortly, and I am excited to see what behind-the-scenes bits we get as Season 3 begins to film.

The Madison quickly became my favorite show from Sheridan, and I know I am not alone in that thought. The plot is heartbreaking yet peaceful and beautiful. Taylor Sheridan sure knows what he’s doing, and he’s struck gold with this plotline.
