Looks like I’m heading back to Colorado this summer.
Eric Church just wrapped up his Free the Machine Tour, but he’s already getting back out on the road, announcing today that he’s heading back to the iconic Red Rocks amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado for three nights in July.
Set for July 6-8, Eric will be performing a unique show each night, and will be bringing along special guests Corey Kent, 49 Winchester and The Creekers to open up for him at the majestic venue.
If you missed it last year, Chief performed three magical nights at Red Rocks last summer, including the final night fully acoustic – just Church, Joanna Cotten, and his guitar. And as someone who was there all three nights, I can tell you just how special these shows were and what a bucket list concert all three of them ended up being.
During night one, Church called Red Rocks his favorite venue on the planet:
“This place has seen the greatest music from the greatest artists of all time. And music still means everything to me. It’s not in the background.”
Honestly, after last year I was fine with never going back to Red Rocks again because I knew I could never recapture the feeling of three nights with Church at Red Rocks – but it looks like I’m going to get a chance to do it again this year.
Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, April 15 at 10 AM MDT for members of the Church Choir fan club, and a limited number of tickets will be reserved for the general onsale which starts Friday, April 17 at 10 AM MDT.
If you’re an Eric Church fan, I’m telling you it doesn’t get any better than seeing him at Red Rocks. I’ve seen every Church tour since he came out in 2006, from festivals, stadiums and arenas to small amphitheaters, and Red Rocks may be the only place that matches his musical spirit.
He hasn’t announced whether any (or all) of the shows will be acoustic yet, but night three last year gave us some pretty special moments – even in the pouring rain. (Seriously, I think I’m still drying out from that show 9 months later).

And it was also a highlight for me personally because Church even performed a brand new song that he had written that same day, which was inspired by one of my articles:
There’s no doubt that this year’s shows will be just as special, as Church celebrates 20 years since the release of his debut album Sinners Like Me.
I’ve already got my hotel booked for Denver – and if you’re a Church fan, you should have these dates on your calendar too.

Along with Red Rocks, Church also announced two new shows at Lake Tahoe Amphitheater on July 15-16, featuring Ernest as the special guest. Those shows go on sale April 21 at 10 AM PDT for Church Choir members, with the general public onsale starting Friday, April 24.
