Tough break in his home state.
After what can only be described as a tumultuous year in 2025, it’s pretty safe to say that 2026 has been off to a much better start for Zach Bryan. Shortly after announcing that he’s beginning his sobriety journey late in the year, he would get married to Samantha Sebastian on New Year’s Eve. Just two weeks later, he’d drop his long-awaited sixth studio album, With Heaven On Top, along with a full-length acoustic version of the record. Delivering another stellar effort, With Heaven On Top would debut #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200, selling 130,00 units in its first week and charting 18/25 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fresh off the album, the “Something in the Orange” singer would embark on his international set of dates, With Heaven On Tour, at the start of March. So far, it’s been off to a pretty good start, packing the likes of LSU’s Tiger Stadium, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium, San Antonio’s The Aladome and more.
This weekend, Bryan was set to deliver a two-night show tonight and Saturday in his home state of Oklahoma at the University of Tulsa’s H.A. Chapman Stadium, along with bandmate, J.R. Carroll, and Trampled By Turtles. However, the Oklahoma native was forced to cancel his show tonight due to extreme weather hitting Tulsa this evening.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bryan would inform fans that the show tonight was cancelled. Apologizing and noting this is the first show in his career he had to cancel, he would issue this message:
“To my fellow Oklahomans:
I am being forced by my team to cancel the show tonight due to the threat of extreme and dangerous weather. I’ve never canceled a show in my life but I unfortunately don’t have a choice in the matter.
Refunds will be issued automatically to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase. Please note that it may take up to 10-15 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Please note the show scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, April 4, 2026 is still set to proceed as planned.”
The cancellation is ultimately due to a severe storm hitting Tulsa around 7-8 p.m. during the time of the show, which includes wind gusts upwards of 60 miles per hour, heavy downpours, hail and intense lightning — all of which have the potential to produce tornadoes.
As of now, no makeup date is scheduled for tonight’s show. However, tomorrow night’s show, also at H.A. Chapman Stadium, is still set to proceed as indicated by Bryan’s announcement.
