“All Of The Sudden… Boom”: DUI Body Cam Footage From Tiger Woods’ Arrest Released

The body cam footage from Tiger Woods’ DUI arrest has been released.

It’s been a whirlwind week for the legendary golfer. Last Friday, the golf world was shocked to hear that Woods had been in yet another vehicular accident. According to ABC News, the crash took place near his home in Jupiter, Florida. The golfer was traveling at a high rate of speed on a two-lane road in his Land Rover and attempted to pass a truck that was pulling a trailer. Tiger reportedly sideswiped the trailer, which caused his vehicle to roll over onto the driver’s side.

Reports from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office suggest that there were no immediate, life-threatening injuries and that one individual was reportedly in stable condition, while the other refused ambulance services. But shortly after news of the crash began spreading, the sheriff’s office announced that Tiger had been arrested for DUI.

In a press conference, authorities said Woods appeared impaired after crawling out of the vehicle, and after field sobriety tests officers believed that he was under the influence of prescription drugs. After being arrested, Woods was given a breathalyzer which confirmed that he hadn’t been drinking, but refused to submit to a urine test to determine whether he was on anything else.

As a result, Tiger was charged with DUI causing property damage and refusal to submit to a urine test following a lawful DUI arrest. And earlier today, body cam footage captured after the crash was released, showing Tiger Woods down on a knee after the accident and telling officers that he had been looking down at his phone when he sideswiped the trailer and flipped his vehicle:

“I looked down at my phone and then all of the sudden… boom.”

Tough look there for Tiger.

Since the accident, Woods has announced that he’s stepping away from golf for a while. There were rumors that he was ramping up to be ready for The Masters, but that will no longer be the case. The 15-time major winner is reportedly going out of the country to seek treatment at a rehab facility, and asks for privacy during this time:

“I know and understands the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.

I’m committed to taking the time needed to return to a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”

One additional reason Tiger may have asked for overarching privacy is his high-profile relationship with Vanessa Trump – the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr..

They went public with their relationship back in March of 2025, and are still together (she was present at some of Tiger’s TGL matches). And according to the Daily Mail, Trump very much pushed for Woods to go to rehab, and reportedly gave him somewhat of an ultimatum if he didn’t take care of himself:

“She had specific criteria. This has to be a real rehab: doctors, counselors. Obviously there’s a big physical component… these are prescribed drugs for legitimate pain and sleeping issues. This isn’t meth. So this has to be doctor supervised. It’s pain management gone awry. But she set a hard line: Fix this, and fix it permanently. She’s not like other girlfriends.

She required it and it was non-negotiable. And he loves her and wants to be with her, so he is willing to do it. She’s not happy at all. She’s both disappointed and a little bit p-ssed, if I’m being honest. It’s a definite red flag and she told him that he’s going to get this sorted out, and that she’s going to require that. He has to get things under control, or she’s not going to stick around.”

Because Tiger is facing two misdemeanor charges, he had to get special permission from the court to leave the country to seek treatment. That permission was granted, and now Woods will be out of the public eye as he attempts to get his life outside of golf back under control.

Here’s to hoping it all works out for the Big Cat.
