God bless Theo Von.
The comedian and This Past Weekend host has a mind that truly works in its own unique way. The things that come out of his mouth are absolutely hilarious, because pretty much everything he says catches you off guard.
And I can confidently say you’ll never be able to guess where he was going with this one.
During a recent episode of his podcast featuring journalist and podcaster James Li, the two were talking about Theo’s comedy game show Deal With It, which ran on TBS for two seasons from 2013 – 2014.
After pulling up a promo photo for the show, Theo apparently thought he was a doppelganger for a well-known country artist:
“I also just realized I looked like that lesbian lady from – what’s that band?”
I can guarantee you that you have no idea where this is going as Theo attempts to explain who he’s talking about:
“They sing that song ‘Life Is A Highway.'”
Rascal Flatts. He’s talking about Gary LeVox, the male lead singer of all-male group Rascal Flatts.
“Yes, I looked like that lesbian lady from Rascal Flatts… And I mean, maybe that’s rude to say.”
Theo then asks his producer to pull up a photo of Rascal Flatts, and at first he stands by the comparison:
“Pretty close, huh?”
But then he seems to realize the biggest problem – really the only problem – with his theory:
“Oh, there is NOT a lady in Rascal Flatts. My bad.”
Incredible. Just absolutely hilarious comparison from Theo here.

Fans in the comments speculated that he may not actually be talking about LeVox and began throwing out guesses for who it could be, including former Sugarland member Kristen Hall or Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks, or even Pink or Keith Urban, but I have a feeling Theo genuinely thought there was a lesbian lady in Rascal Flatts (even after seeing the picture of Gary LeVox) until he zoomed in and realized his mistake.
That’s the beauty of Theo Von’s brain: You just never know what’s going on in there, and luckily whatever’s in there is going to come out of his mouth and make for hilarious content.
I mean, this is the same guy who told President Donald Trump that coke will “turn you into a damn owl, homie” during a podcast:
@theovon talkin recovery w/ @President Donald J Trump
And he also recently told a hilarious story about an apparent drunk dial to the president while hanging out with a friend:
“Dude, I’m hanging out with Kid Rock, I was with Kid Rock the other night and he calls Trump. It’s like 1 AM, he calls him he’s like, ‘What’s going?’
Trump answers, they’re f–king talking, I’m like, ‘Dude what is going on?'”
Classic Theo. It’s why he’s one of the most successful podcasters and comedians in the game: You just never know what he’s going to say and how his brain works.
Never change, Theo. You’re a national treasure.
