It would be a hot mess… but that’s kind of the point of The Bachelorette franchise, so maybe Brianna Chickenfry would be the perfect choice.
In case you live under a rock and haven’t heard, or have heard or seen the name “Taylor Frankie Paul” in the last 24 hours, let me enlighten you. Taylor is a cast member on the incredibly popular Hulu reality show “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which follows a group of young moms in Utah, who are also influencers and part of a group called MomTok. They first became known in pop culture because of Taylor, who went viral in 2022 when announced her divorce from husband Tate Paul and admitted to participating in “soft swinging” with some of the MomTok girls, and one of them is on the show now, a fan-favorite named Miranda.
Taylor was also set to be the next Bachelorette, which was supposed to premiere this coming Sunday, March 22nd, however, the season as since been canceled. Why? Let me tell you…
Taylor has three kids in total, two with her ex-husband and one with her on-and-off again boyfriend Dakota, who is often featured on the show and from the first episode of the series, you see they have an extremely volatile relationship, which leads us to the video that was released yesterday. It shows Paul throwing metal stools at her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, and one eventually ends up hitting her young daughter in the head, who you can hear crying in the video and calling for her mom, the one who threw the chair.
It’s incredibly hard to watch, honestly I don’t recommend it, and there’s a lot more to it but cast members have repeatedly expressed their concerns about Taylor, alleging that Taylor and Dakota are abusive towards each other both emotionally and physically, though just as a note, that video is from 2023 and Taylor was arrested in February of 2023 because of it. Police at the time noted video evidence suggesting a “minor child was injured by an action of Ms. Paul,” and she was charged with multiple offenses, including felony aggravated assault, domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse and criminal mischief.
In August of 2023, she entered a plea for one count of felony aggravated assault, and she is on probation through August of 2026 because of it, and her other charges were dismissed. There’s honestly a lot more to it (yes I know way too much about all of this), but the video ultimately led to to the The Bachelorette canceling Taylor’s whole season.
There’s been a ton of fallout, I’m sure you’ve seen some of it online, but it sounds like Brianna, whose real last name is LaPaglia, is happy to volunteer to replace Taylor as the shows star. Of course, you probably know her name because she had a very public split with Zach Bryan in what ended up being a very public breakup in October of 2024 (yes, it’s been over a year now), and it made tons of headlines when Brianna aired it all out on her BFFs podcast with Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards.
Since then, the two of them have gone back and forth taking jabs at each other online, though Brianna has been much more pointed about what she’s said, while Zach’s have been much more subliminal. He’s since gotten married to his wife Samantha, who looks strikingly similar to Brianna, but I can only imagine what kind of online drama would be stirred up if that ever happened…
Personally, I think they need to go back to finding random girls with real jobs to be The Bachelorette (same for the men), but I think we’ve seen she can bring the drama so from that standpoint, maybe it would be a good choice… but I don’t think it would be mine.
Yesterday, she shared the following photo on TikTok saying she’s “right here” and seemingly ready to step up:
“Heard they need a new Bachelorette, I’m right here.”
Her fans were loving the idea, and I was simply surprised at how fast she put that out there after the news broke yesterday:
“I may actually watch the bachelorette for this one.”
“I would watch that.”
“Let’s go!!!!! How do we call them!!!???”
“I would LOVE THAT.”
“You were quick it’s only been an hour.”
“The abused takes the abusers seat at the table lol I like it.”
“I’d watch ‘The Bachelorette’ for the first time in 10 years.”
“I would watch that show for the first time lol.”
“Iconic would be an understatement.”
I mean, if they want to hear her talk about Zach Bryan every episode… go for it.
