Who’s cutting onions?

It’s a new era for the Tennessee Titans. For over two decades, the Nashville NFL team has sported colors of navy, baby blue, and red. Their flaming “T” logo wasn’t the most popular in the league, but it was beloved by fans. And now, as the team nears their move to a new stadium in 2027, the Titans decided it was time for a complete rebrand.

Yesterday, the “Music City” team revealed their official new logo, uniforms, and color scheme… and it’s both a fresh look and a nod to when the Titans were originally known as the Houston Oilers (before they relocated to Tennessee):

Personally, I’ll miss the flames on the logo, but I think it’s a good look.

Most Titans fans are in the same boat, but the Tennessee fanbase has been happy with the media production around the announcement. The Titans organization has pulled out all of the stops for their rebrand, and one of the best things they’ve done is this video below that’s titled “Same Team, New Chapter. Next Titan Up!”

With country music star Stephen Wilson Jr.’s cover of “Stand By Me” playing in the background, the video tells a story of a family of Titans fans. It begins in “Nashville 1999,” and moves through the years all the way up until the opening of the new stadium – which like I said earlier will be for the 2027-28 season (not this upcoming one).

The video showcases the power of passing down fandom, and if you call yourself a Titans fan, or really just a sports fan in general, it’s sure to tug at your heartstrings:

I’m not crying, YOU are crying.

When you factor in the meaning of “Stand By Me” to Stephen Wilson Jr., the video hits that much harder. The country singer has stated many times before that he relates that song to his relationship with his late father, and always feels his presence when he performs it. There’s just something about it that reminds Wilson Jr. of all the things his dad passed down to him, and I’m sure a lot of people feel the same way about their Titans fandom.

As made evident by some of these replies to the video that the Tennessee Titans posted:

Yeah, the “Stand By Me” cover from Stephen Wilson Jr. was undoubtedly the perfect touch.
