It’s safe to say that we’re in pretty divisive times… we all know that it. We all see the news, the rhetoric on social media, the nonsense about the Super Bowl and the halftime show, the partisan approach to every single conversation in Washington DC. It’s not about constructive dialog, achieving a common goal, bettering life for the American people… it’s about winning for your side. Picking a team and blindly swearing allegiance to it, no matter how foolish or ridiculous the argument is. We all know this, we see it every day.
But I have to say, you’d really think that if there was one last hope for finding some semblance of unity, one single thing that we can come together one and say, “hell yeah,” it would be Team USA Men’s Hockey winning their first gold medal in 46 years, against Canada of all teams, the perennial powerhouse of the sport. But no… it took all of a couple hours for the Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) to take over, and people, many who don’t even watch hockey, start attacking and shaming the team.
It’s disgusting… absolutely disgusting to see these kids treated like villains because they took a call from the President of the United States and went on a visit to the White House… like every championship team in America has done for decades and decades. A group of patriotic, America-loving, hockey players accomplished the ultimate goal of bringing home a gold medal for their country, and now have to spend every media session defending themselves for it… from these self-righteous, narcissistic, hacktivist journalists, some of them not even from this country. It’s pathetic… and they’re all too nice and respectful to tell any of them to shut the hell up. God bless ’em for it.
First of all, the Trump joke wasn’t even about the women’s team… it was about the hysterical left-wing politicians and the virtue-signaling media having a meltdown if he didn’t invite them. And they so wonderfully proved that he was exactly right with their despicable behavior. When he mentioned inviting the women, you immediately hear the men say “absolutely!” followed by a number of players chanting “two for two!” Why? Because these two teams love each other, they support each other, and the only people saying otherwise is the lunatic media.
In fact, in a conversation with Spittin’ Chiclets, Team USA forward Abbey Murphy called the whole thing “sad,” and said the men’s team was nothing but supportive and kind to them. The two teams celebrated together in the dining hall and had a great time, hanging out until the early morning after their gold meal victories:
“Charlie McAvoy had his googles on his head and he welcomed every single girl, a big hug, a squeeze, we were all laughing about it… both teams conjoined and sat together in the dining hall up until 3 am, but we sat around the table with laughs and jokes, Jack Eichel was leading the cheers. Obviously, a huge honor to represent the country with them.
We heard the… whatever, but you hear someone in the back of the phone call yell, ‘2-for-2.’ We never felt anything bad from them. It’s sad that they even have to apologize for anything. It was a huge, honestly, part for both teams and a really cool moment. Two teams had one goal in common, and that was gold… they’re a special group of boys and we’re just honored to be on that journey with them. We know how much they respect us and we respect them so it definitely goes two ways.”
Wow…. sounds like the women’s team isn’t mad at all. Not even a little bit, eh?
But of course, this just goes to prove that it’s not about the guys behavior, it’s not about what was said or what wasn’t said, and it’s not even about the women’s team at all… it’s purely about Trump. This rare, unifying moment for the United States of America was completely hijacked by broken brained leftists who simply can’t stand to see Donald Trump on their TV screens. He calls into the locker rooms, and immediately they start searching for a way to take the spotlight off of these incredible athletes, and put all of the focus on how much they hate Trump. It’s absurd. They start bashing the men for “laughing at a joke,” they start praising the 5 guys who didn’t go to the White House (even though all 5 explicitly said it had nothing to do with Trump whatsoever), and now the media starts sticking microphones in their face wondering if they’re gonna apologize to the women’s team who say they have nothing to apologize for.
The woke media slams the players over and over, and then has the audacity to be like “there’s a lot of backlash out there, can you comment on it?” You MADE the backlash and now you want to write a follow up on their reaction to your manufactured backlash? Seriously, I’ll give $1,000 to the first player who goes off on one of these reporters.
