Which Super Bowl Halftime Show do you plan on tuning in to?
Considering you clicked on this story, I’m assuming you plan on skipping out on the traditional entertainment option the NFL will be rolling out this year. Despite a lot of backlash, and even a petition for a country star to replace the chosen artist, the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell are standing by their decision to tap the Puerto Rican superstar, Bad Bunny, for the Super Bowl halftime show.
To be fair, it’s not like the NFL’s decision came out of nowhere. Bad Bunny is undoubtedly a musical powerhouse when it comes to global reach and popularity. He boasts 77.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and he made history when he became the first ever artist to capture the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with an all-Spanish language project. He also just recently won “Album of the Year” at the Grammys.
If the NFL wants to try and expand its empire into Latin America… the selection is a no-brainer. But even with Bad Bunny making sense from a global outreach perspective, does it make sense for NFL fans? Probably not, and a number of people (both executives and players alike) in the National Football League aren’t exactly on board with the polarizing selection. Football fans around the country have also voiced their displeasure with Bad Bunny as the halftime performer, and that’s to be expected given the political climate, but also the fact that sports leagues, and big brands in general, just insist on ignoring their loyal fanbase for the opportunity to reach “a new” audience. We saw it with Bud Light, we’ve seen it with NASCAR in recent years, the NHL just had their Winter Classic in Miami, Florida… the list goes on.
But of course, all this backlash has opened the door for Turning Point USA’s alternative, “All-American” halftime show.
Shortly after Bad Bunny was announced as the Apple Music halftime performer, the organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk shared that they’d be staging a “pro-America” halftime show to act as counter-programming. From the very beginning, Turning Point USA has maintained that their show will be “celebrating faith, family, and freedom.” And for those who have been begging for country music to make an appearance at a Super Bowl halftime show (looking at you Jelly Roll), the lineup for the alternative halftime show will be the closest we’ve gotten in years. Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett are all set to take the stage for the event.
Where can you tune in to watch it? The good news, for those interested, is that there will be multiple ways to watch the Turning Point USA “All-American” Halftime Show. Turning Point USA has released a list of channels and avenues that viewers can tune to in order to watch their halftime show, including:
-The Daily Wire
-Real America’s Voice
-Trinity Broadcasting Network
-Charge!
-The National News Desk
-New Tang Dynasty
-One America News (OAN)
-Turning Point USA social media accounts
-Turning Point USA YouTube, X & Rumble
-The Charlie Kirk Show account on YouTube and Rumble.
Those social media accounts mean that the broadcast will be free to watch. It’s not clear whether the show will be airing live or will be pre-recorded and released to sync up with the Super Bowl halftime show, but TPUSA has said that the show would be a full production in an “arena setting.” And as you can see thanks to the list above, there will be plenty of different options for tuning in.
