“This Was My Christmas Present”: Viral Young Fan Wants Eagles OC Kevin Patullo Flipping Burgers After Heartbreaking Playoff Loss

I’m sure a lot of sports fans in Philadelphia are comfortable with this kid acting as their voice.

The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles are officially out of the playoffs, and won’t repeat as the Super Bowl victors. After the Philly squad decided to sit their starters in the last week of the regular season and fell to the No. 3 seed in the NFC, they hosted the San Francisco 49ers in the “City of Brotherly Love,” and got beat.

In what ended up being a microcosm of their season, Philadelphia started out hot in the first half, then went incredibly cold in the second half, and the 49ers were able to emerge victorious. The Eagles had one last effort on 4th down with time ticking down, but quarterback Jalen Hurts threw it into a crowded area hoping his tight end would bail him out.

He didn’t:

Now that the Eagles are officially out of it, Philly fans are airing out their grievances with the team.

And one young man by the name of Sam Salvo is currently going viral for how he broke down the game in a news interview just outside of Lincoln Financial Field. Briana Smith of Action Six News in Philadelphia set up near the stadium and got to speaks with some disappointed Eagles fan.

No one was more disappointed and/or fired up than Sam Salvo.

The Philly fan told the news reporter that, after watching the Eagles lose to the 49ers 23-19, he was quite upset. Mainly because he had gotten a ticket to the game as a Christmas present, and felt as though that wasn’t the best gift armed with hindsight:

“This was my Christmas present and I got a loss. Yeah, probably (would have rather had coal).”

After declaring his Christmas gift as bogus, Salvo was asked how he felt after watching the Eagles lose, and he didn’t waste any time getting into some specifics. He first called out Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown for not showing up in big moments of the game, and then stuck the landing with a scathing comparison for Philly’s offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo:

“I’m feeling two of two things. I want A.J. Brown packing his bags and I want him somewhere else that is not here. I love you A.J. but, you can’t make those drops in that game. I also want Kevin Patullo flipping burgers at the local McDonald’s or something. I don’t care. When he’s an offensive coordinator, it’s like he’s flipping burgers. One half he’s cooking, and the other half is completely raw.”

That has to be rough to get roasted by a young fan like that.

It certainly seems like Sam Salvo is wise beyond his years when it comes to his sports fandom. He’s acting like he’s experienced a lifetime of turmoil caused by the Philadelphia Eagles (even though they won a Super Bowl last season), and that’s what being a sports fan in all about.

And at the end of the day… the young kid was right. The Eagles had some excruciating drops in the second half, and their offensive was horrendous to close out the game:

What can you say? The kid knows ball…
