“No Way This Is Coincidental” — Megan Moroney Reveals Eerie Sign She Got When Kacey Musgraves Agreed To Be Featured On ‘Cloud 9’

Megan Moroney is gearing up to release her highly-anticipated third studio album Cloud 9 in February, and she just revealed the tracklist last week, which confirmed two features, one being British pop star Ed Sheeran, and the other being country star Kacey Musgraves. Fans seemed to think they might be a real possibility to be on the album, and Kacey and Megan teamed up for a song called “Bells & Whistles,” which is the one I’m most looking forward to hearing.

Megan has spoken many times about how muck Kacey has influenced her songwriting in particular, and Megan has shared the below photo before of her with Kacey outside Kacey’s tour bus back in 2014:

In a recent Instagram story, Megan called the collaboration with Kacey her “Super Bowl,” and during a recent interview with The Big98 radio station, Megan talked about how she’s had many moments in her career already that felt like divine intervention in terms of her music exploding:

“I mean, it happens all the time. I feel like, since the beginning of my career, stuff has happened to where I’m like, this is someone else intervening in my life. This is what I’m supposed to be doing.

The fact that my first show was at the Georgia Theater opening for Chase Rice, because he just so happened to be at the sorority that I chose… I go back all the time and I think, what if I didn’t rush KD in college? That’s such a small thing, but we were the only sorority that had a concert for a philanthropy thing. It started since the beginning… it happens all the time.”

She went onto talk about meeting Kacey eleven years ago, and she explained that the photo was taken on October 4th, 2014, which was wild because Kacey’s manager called her team to tell her Kacey would do the song for Megan’s album on October 4th, 2025, which Megan felt like a sign of sorts or some sort of supernatural wink, if you will:

“Oh, I found out too, I’m like really into signs and stuff… on October 4th, 2014, I met Kacey Musgraves outside of her bus, and my dad pulled up the picture, and the iPhone said that, so I’m not like just creepy.

So that was October 4th, 2014. 11 years later, October 4th, 2025, we got a call from her manager saying that she was gonna be on my song. And it’s exactly 11 years later. And we found out at 9:09, and we’ve been obsessed with nines because of ‘Cloud 9.’

So when things like that happen, I’m like, there’s no way that this is all just coincidental, and I’m just like, well, I’m just here and just got lucky…there’s there’s no way, so it’s really cool.”

Megan has worked hard to get where she is now, and she deserves to be working with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves, which I’m sure are part of some great songs that we won’t have to wait too much longer to hear.

Cloud 9 is due out everywhere on February 20th:
