“Rudolph, Play Rudolph!” – Jon Pardi Says Christmas Music Is Saving His Little Girls When They’re On The Brink Of A Meltdown

Jon Pardi

Christmas music is keeping the Pardi house sane this season.

The Pardi family, a party of four, is spending their first holiday season navigating life with two young children. Jon and Summer Pardi have two little girls, Presley Fawn, born in February 2023, and Sienna Grace, born in July 2024. The “Mr. Saturday Night” has calmed down his partying ways since becoming a father, and instead of spending his nights out on the town, he’s spending them at home with his family.

And can you blame him? His two littles are cute, and his eldest looks like she might be following in her father’s footsteps:

However, her twang still has some developing to do as the music his children like still falls into the category of nursery rhymes.

Earlier this year, during CMA Awards week, Jon Pardi sat down with Pure Country Radio to chat about his music, what’s on the horizon, and what it’s like raising two little girls. During the conversation, they talked about the kind of music that his girls like, and Pardi shared that Christmas music, along with some other classic children’s songs, is a saving grace in their household.

“Presley’s really into ‘Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Frosty The Snowman,’ and ‘Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.’ She hasn’t really crossed over into country music yet, but we will see.”

The interviewer noted that Christmas music sounds like it’s being played quite a bit during this time of year. To which Pardi, hilariously, answered that it’s the music they put on to avoid a crisis in their household.

“Christmas saved, saving our heads, our minds. Like “Put ‘Frosty the Snowman’ on. Put it on. She’s having a meltdown. Rudolph, play Rudolph. Play Rudolph. It’s crazy, car rides can be insane. Like screaming insane.

You know what I’m saying? Emergency play “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.'”

HA.

Putting on a Christmas classic is a great way to de-escalate a pending meltdown. I mean, how can you be sad listening to “Frosty the Snowman?” And I’m sure that it saves a lot of curse words from being whispered under your breath as well.

Pardi shared earlier this year on Whiskey Riff Raff episode that he’s also working on not cussing as much for the sake of his children.

“I’ve been trying to not curse as much. I’ve been trying to be good also because now my baby girls are starting to be copycats of stuff. And it starts everywhere. I’m trying. So I’m trying to clean it up. It all starts in practice, right?”

There’s nothing funnier than a little kid swearing. But, it’s a slippery slope, because your natural instinct is to laugh, but then you know that can swiftly create a bad habit. The Pardi household is evidently going through some form of that right now.

And Pardi happily informed us that he was really doing well with the whole no swearing thing… right before he broke into a tangent about his love for f-bombs:

“I’ve been good. I’ve been trying to be good. But I love saying f**k. F**k is my favorite, definitely my favorite cuss word. There’s so many things you could say or do with f**k. But not good in country music. That’s the one word that you just can’t include.”

F stands for Frosty the Snowman, and f*** in the Pardi household.
