A young actress who starred in 9-1-1 Nashville has sadly passed away at the age of 23.
Isabella Tate, who played the character “Julie” in the Ryan Murphy spinoff series, died this past Sunday. The up-and-coming actress had just recently booked her first ever acting role with 9-1-1 Nashville, and was featured in the pilot episode of the series, which drew in over 8 million viewers.
The cause of Isabella Tate’s death has not been revealed, but TMZ reports that she passed away in her sleep, and that she suffered from the rare progressive neuromuscular disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. It was her acting agency representative (from the McCray Agency, which is based in Nashville) that initially broke the news of the 23-year-old’s passing. The agency’s post honored the young woman with these kind words:
“We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She was 23. I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, ‘9-1-1 Nashville.’ She had a wonderful time.
Special thanks to Mark Fincannon and Shelby Holt for casting her and Caroline Locorriere for that wonderful encouragement and nudge back to the acting world. Also to Lora Sorrentino for making her set experience a good one. My heart goes out to her wonderful mother, Katerina Tate, her sister, Daniella, and family and friends. I was so lucky to know her and she will be greatly missed by so many.”
Such a sad situation, and 23-years-old is so very young. It makes it that much more tragic that Tate had just booked her first ever acting gig with 9-1-1 Nashville. As previously stated, she played “Julie” in the series premiere. It’s unclear whether she will be featured in any other episodes in the first season. Her IMDB page just lists her acting credit for 9-1-1 Nashville as one episode.
Isabella Tate starred in the show alongside LeAnn Rimes, Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Brad Paisley’s wife), and Chris O’Donnell, among others. Clearly she had some talent to make it onto a big, network TV show like 9-1-1 Nashville. Though she could have been on her way to breaking out in the acting world, her friends and family online are remembering her for the type of person that she was.
Multiple posts call Isabella Tate “full of fire,” and “the most caring, loving person.” One even called the 23-year-old a “fighter.” The young woman undoubtedly had a positive impact on the people in her life, and hopefully those close to her can find some comfort in knowing that Tate was able to live out a lot of people’s dream and star in a popular TV show before she passed away.
Austin Funeral & Cremation Services shared her obituary, giving insight into Isabella Tate’s life, and where her funeral service will be held:
“Tate was born and raised in Nashville and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with an undergraduate degree in business. She loved visiting animal shelters and writing and recording music with her friends. She is survived by her mother Katerina Kazakos Tate, stepfather Vishnu Jayamohan, father John Daniel Tate and sister Daniella Tate. A funeral will be held in Brentwood, Tenn., on Oct. 24.”
RIP Isabella Tate.
