Moose Chases Off Couple Trying To Take Engagement Pictures Near Pond In Utah

This couple has nothing to worry about… they say getting chased off by a moose while you are trying to take engagement/wedding pictures brings good luck to your marriage.

There are countless internet videos of people getting way too close to animals out in nature, and there are plenty of social media accounts dedicated to incidents like that going wrong. If you don’t follow “Tourons of National Parks,” make sure you give them a follow before you leave this story.

Their page does a great job of highlighting idiotic people visiting national parks (hence the name “Touron”) and other areas where wildlife are present, and though they’re goal is to educate people through these what-not-to-do videos, somehow people keep doing dumber and dumber stuff. And most of the time, it revolves around a person wanting to get closer to an animal in order to get a better picture of it.

This time though, it has to do with a couple simply trying to take a picture in the outdoors and wildlife just so happened to be nearby. It’s very common for engaged couples and newly weds to commemorate the life milestone by going out in nature and snapping a couple of photographs. I can’t tell you how many invitations and save-the-dates I’ve come across showing a couple frolicking through a field of tall grass and looking into each other’s eyes.

All I can ever think about is “I hope they sprayed themselves down with tick repellent.”

The couple in this video would have needed some moose repellent spray (from what I know, that doesn’t exist) if they wanted to get through their photography session. They were posing in Big Cottonwood Canyon, which is located near Salt Lake City, Utah, and were in great danger of a moose in the neighboring area photobombing and/or ruining their moment.

These massive creatures are the largest members of the deer family and the second largest animal to roam North America… and another fun fact that’s only supported by this footage below? Moose hate cameras and photos. They also don’t seem to care that much for sharing, since this one could have easily left these people alone, but rather chose to say, “This pond ain’t big enough for the both of us.”

Someone that was a far distance away from the couple taking photos – and the moose – got a real kick out of watching that massive wild animal charge at the man and woman posing for pictures. It was a legitimate, scary chase down there for a couple of seconds, and the woman even fell down as she and her partner (and the photographer) ran away. If this was the first test of their marriage, the guy passed… he went back for his bride/bride-to-be to help her up.

The video was captioned:

“The moose didn’t like anyone in his pond. For wedding pictures or not.”

That’s one angry, anti-photography moose right there.

Luckily, the moose pulled up, changed directions and left the couple alone. Everyone else that was in the area made sure to really keep their distance from the wild animal afterwards, so maybe the couple took one for the team and helped keep everyone else safe that day.

Hope they were at least able to salvage some good photos out of the moose-adjacent session…
