Scottie Scheffler Praises Donald Trump Ahead Of The Ryder Cup: “Treats Everybody Like They’re The Greatest Person In The World”

Scottie Scheffler

The No. 1 golfer in the world has nothing but praise for the Commander in Chief ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup.

One of the best events in all of sports (not just golf) is quickly approaching: The Ryder Cup. If you’ve never heard of it, you are missing out big time. The contest pits the best golfers from the United States against Europe’s top-tier golfers in a three-day, match-play extravaganza.

The bi-annual event – which tees off on September 26 and runs through September 28 – is one of the only times that golf’s match play format takes the grandest stage, and obviously when you pit two countries against one another (especially U.S.A. and Europe), there’s going to be a lot of emotion and national pride involved. It’s truly one of the great weekends in all of sports.

One of the leaders and top players for Team U.S.A. is Scottie Scheffler. Even non-golf-fans know his name, and that’s solely because of how dominant he has become over the past couple of years. The American squad is fortunate to have him on their side, and based on what Scheffler had to say at his press conference, it sounds like he’s ready to earn some points for Team U.S.A.

He’s also ready to hopefully cross paths with President Trump over the weekend, who is expected to attend the golf tournament on Friday, which is being held at Bethpage Black in New York. Scottie spoke about how meaningful it is to have the POTUS in attendance, praised Trump for being such a big golf fan, and made a point to mention that Trump treats everyone with the utmost respect:

“The president is kind of funny. He loves the game of golf. He loves supporting golfers. I get a call or a text from him sometimes after wins. He just loves the game of golf, and he’s one of those guys when you’re around him, he does such a good job of feeding confidence into everybody around him.

That was one of things I noticed a lot with the little bit of time I spent with him. He treats everybody the same and treats people with the utmost respect. Whether you’re the person serving us lunch or the caddie on the golf course or the guy who’s the president of the club that they’re at, he treats everybody like they’re the greatest person in the world.”

Scheffler went on to say that he hasn’t heard if President Trump plans on talking to the American team at any point during the weekend. However, Scottie comically pointed out that if Team U.S.A. does well, he expects that Trump will say something to them:

“I don’t think he has any plans to address us as a team, but I’m sure if things go well, we’ll hear from him this week.”

And I just want to quickly mention again that the Ryder Cup is one of the best events in all of sports, and if you’ve never watched it, you’ve got to give it a shot (and root on America) this weekend.

Trust me… if the golf tournament is good enough for the POTUS, it’s good enough for you.
