Just announce the album already, Luke Combs.
The country superstar has been teasing several new songs lately, and he has a heater dropping this Friday called “Back In The Saddle,” which will have an accompanying music video featuring NASCAR legends Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty.
It looks epic:
But that’s not the only song he’s teased…
The other day, Combs played an acoustic version of an unreleased song called “15 Minutes,” which was written by Luke along with Rob Pennington, Trey Pendley and Grant Vogel, and tells the story of a phone call of a prisoner who will be in there for life calling their mom and asking about what’s going on back home.
He asks about her garden and what she’s making for dinner, and tells her he doesn’t want to talk about himself too much because he “only gets 15 Minutes” to talk to her before they’re cut off:

Just thought I’d call and check on in,
and me how things are going back at home?
Tell me how’s your garden doing,
I heard the daffodils are blooming,
What you got for supper on the stove?
It sounds like you’re doing fine,
Me? I’m getting by,

Luke Combs just knows how to get you right where it hurts…
He shared part of the song with an acoustic video on Instagram, and told a little bit about how it came to be, seemingly confirming it will be on the tracklist for the next record:
“My buddy Rob Pennington sent me this tune awhile ago. He wrote it with Trey Pendley and Grant Vogel. As soon as I heard it I asked Rob if I could write on it with him and make it my own somehow. Ended up recording it in the studio a few weeks back and just been messing with it at the house here lately and thought y’all might wanna hear it. Hope y’all enjoy and pumped up for this next record.”
With a new single dropping this Friday, and Luke continuing to tease unreleased music, I have a feeling that an album announcement is imminent and we’ll hopefully know more soon… check it out:
