What could be better than coming across a cute dog video on your TikTok feed? Well, perhaps a video of a dog wearing a pair of boots and a cowboy hat with a country song in the background.
The latest TikTok dog trend revolves around the chorus of Alan Jackson’s “Back”. The song is featured on his 2021 album Where Have You Gone, which debuted at #1 on the U.S. Country Album Chart and reached #2 on the Billboard 200 chart for all-genres. While “Back” had its swell of popularity back during the album release in 2021, it sure is having a comeback with the surge of attention it’s been getting from the TikTok’s going viral using it as a sound.
The trend consists of pet owners putting their dogs, and sometimes other four-legged friends, in their favorite pair of boots and favorite country hat behind the lyrics:
“I got my boots,
I got my hat,
I’m bringing country back”

Rue, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, gets gussied up in a pair of brown embroidered boots with a puppy sized tan cowgirl hat. She is too cute, and TikTok seems to agree with the video garnering over 7.2 million likes.

Kobe, the wild weenier of the west, takes the stage with a whopping 6.3 million likes on his rendition of the trend. Little Kobe stands sweetly for the camera with a miniature cowboy hat and, what I’m assuming to be toddler sized cowboy boots, fit perfectly for his tiny frame.

My personal favorite TikTok from this trend was posted only two days ago by Dixie, a golden retriever puppy with some clumsy country spunk. In her video, she wears a pair of cowboy boots so big they could swallow her, and a hat so big it almost covers her eyes. The best part of this video is Dixie’s tumble near the end. I guess she needs to get some smaller boots!

Dogs aren’t the only ones participating in all the fun, some farm animals are too. Besides the adorable calf taking its stance as a true cowboy, the best part of this video has to be the adult momma cow standing next to the calf.
