A song for the time spent on the Dutton Ranch.
Ryan Bingham is back with a brand new single, tipping his hat to the time spent on the set of the hit Western show, Yellowstone.
On the Taylor Sheridan show, Bingham acted as one of the ranch hands, Walker. His character came from a troubled past, and he aspired to get off the ranch and become a singer. Walker previously worked on the famed quarter horse ranch, the 6666s Ranch in Texas, and before arriving at the Dutton Ranch, Walker served seven years in prison for manslaughter.
Due to his past convictions, Rip Wheeler saw him as a perfect hire for the ranch and received the Yellowstone brand, which tied him to the ranch forever. However, when Walker began slacking off and running his mouth, many thought his fate would end at the train station, but Kayce spared him and told him never to set foot in Montana again. While Walker thought he was getting off clean, he found his way back to the ranch after not successfully leaving Montana due to being on parole.
Walker re-proved his loyalty to the ranch and the other ranch hands and then began working on the Yellowstone again.
Walker then found a love interest, a barrel racer named Laramie, who also turned into an off-camera romance.
Ryan Bingham has to thank Yellowstone for more than helping his acting and musical career; it also gave him the love of his life. Last year, Bingham and Hassie Harrison, who played Laramie, got married in Dallas, taking their on-screen romance off-screen.
Because of all that Bingham got from his time on the series’ set, he is tipping his hat to the show with his new single “A Song For The Stone.” Very appropriately named if you ask me. Bingham shared a version of this single at the end of last year, sitting around a campfire strumming the melody, but today he’s released a studio cut of it.
The slow ballad follows the template for many of Bingham’s other hits. His raspy voice talks about the loyalty and hardships one faces when tied to the Yellowstone ranch. The lyrics also detail the struggle in the show’s plot to protect the Duttons’ sacred land, which they eventually sold to Chief Thomas Rainwater and the Broken Rock Reservation for $1.25 an acre.
While Bingham sings of the rich history of the land, he also touches on the demons found on the land, noting it will never give more than it can take and referencing the train station and the unlucky souls taken there.

Taylor Sheridan created a special universe with Yellowstone that left its mark on all of the actors and actresses involved. Ryan Bingham captured that magic perfectly in “A Song For The Stone.”
