I still can’t get over the fact that Billy Ray pulled dating super model and actress and model Elizabeth Hurley…
Over Easter weekend, they hard-launched their relationship, and in a collaborative post on Instagram, Hurley shared a photo of the two of them sharing a kiss, with Billy Ray wearing a pair of bunny ears, along with the caption:

It sent the internet into a frenzy, because I’ll be honest they’re the last two people on earth I would put together, and Billy Ray has not exactly had a lot of positive press in the last several years… if you’ve never heard the insane voicemail of Billy berating his superstar daughter Miley Cyrus, go ahead and Google that one… it’s really something. He married a woman named Firerose who was 28 years his junior in October of 2023, and in May of 2024, Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose. Cyrus gave more recently gave a horrific performance at the at the Liberty Ball during President Trump’s inauguration, and has seemed generally unwell every time there’s news about him, honestly.
His own sons have posted things about wanting to help him and rebuild a relationship, and he appears to have strained relationship with his kids, at least publicly, but who really knows… not everything in the news is always super accurate, as we all know. Of course, Cyrus was married to his now ex-wife Tish for nearly 28 years, and they had three kids together, Miley, Braison and Noah, and he adopted her children Brandi and Trace, from a previous relationship.
There have been mumblings that Tish had suspicions about Billy Ray and Elizabeth back in 2022, when the now-couple met set of their Christmas film Christmas in Paradise, which they both starred in. Tish had her thoughts and suspicions at the time that he was cheating on her with Liz, but Billy Ray flat out denied it.”
And in a new clip shared with People from Apple Music Country’s The Ty Bentli Show, Billy Ray is opening up about his relationship with Hurley and how much they laughed on the movie set and noted how much “chemistry” they had:
“We did very few scenes together, but the couple times we were in the same scene, there was a chemistry there. We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn’t laughing a lot. The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different.”
I’m not saying I think anything happened then, but Tish was definitely onto something…
He went onto say that they “didn’t speak for two years” after filming, and he continued to go through some hard times, and Elizabeth just so happened to reach out. He says he didn’t have her phone number and didn’t know who it was,
“I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?’ For me, at a certain point it was like, you can’t get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you. And in this moment… a friend reached out.”
Billy Ray added that it was something like a letter Johnny Cash had written him before:
“Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner. Johnny said, ‘Hey, you know, just remember that all things that are good come from almighty God above and that stuff happens, and in your case… the good outweighs the bad. Let ‘em have it. I’m in your corner…’ A bit of what Johnny had written me at my lowest point.”
Cyrus finally confirmed it was Hurley who was texting him, and it was exactly who he needed to hear from:
“So, I text back, I go, ‘Who is this?’ And it’s like, ‘Elizabeth Hurley.’ Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.”
While it may appear to many of us like they have nothing in common, Cyrus explained how “smart” Hurley is, even saying he reminds her of Dolly Parton, which is a compliment of the highest order, indeed…
“If all we ever were [is] the friends that we are, I would take that. She’s so impressively brilliant. She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She’s a very smart businesswoman. If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything.
He also addressed the kissing photo from Instagram, saying he can’t help it and I can’t say I blame him… he’s dating one of the world’s most beautiful super models:
“There will be one coming where she’s kissing me because people have been saying, ‘Why’s he always kissing her?’ Unfortunately when I see her, when she puts her cheek out there, I don’t know what happens, I just kiss it.
It’s just been beautiful, and again, no expectations of where we go from here other than her and her son — I do love him a lot, and it’s great that God brought them into my life when he did. It’s just a good thing. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy.”
I mean, like I said, I would’ve never put them together, but only time will tell if they can make it last, and in the meantime, it looks like Elizabeth is really taking to the Tennessee, country life…
