Replacing the fiancé with a puppy… I’d say things are really over between actress Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino.
Sweeney, who most people were introduced to in HBO’s teen drama Euphoria, has been making headlines as of late due to reports all but confirming that her relationship is over, and back in February, news broke that Sydney Sweeney had postponed her wedding to her fiancé of three years, Jonathan Davino.
Some eagle-eyed fans noticed back in March that the known-t0-be engaged movie and TV star had deleted pictures with her fiancé off of her social media accounts, though the couple had been together for years. They were first linked back in 2018, and made headlines because of the age gap between them, with Davino being 41-years-old. And they were reportedly engaged in 2022, with plans to get married this coming May. Initially, reports from TMZ suggested that the wedding was pushed back due to the couple’s busy schedule, but then the deleted picture aspect was thrown into the mix, which led to “trouble in paradise” speculation.
Those rumors were all but confirmed when another report from US Weekly made claims that the wedding had been completely called off. An insider told the outlet that Sydney and Jonathan’s relationship was really being tested, and implied that the decision to cancel the wedding wasn’t mutual:
“Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now. All wedding plans have come to a halt and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
The word is that Sydney wanted to focus more on her career, and allegedly her fiancé (?) wasn’t loving how much time she was spending on her projects… I also have to imagine he wasn’t loving the pretty friendly relationship Sweeney had with her co-star Glen Powell. Sweeney recently attended Glen’s sisters wedding in Texas, which certainly fueled the rumors more, though his mom insists they’re just friends still.
While she hasn’t spoken publicly, a video recently went viral recently of Sydney singing Adele’s “Someone Like You” at a Key West, Florida Karaoke bar recently, and now that she has a new man in her life, a puppy named Sully, you can pretty much bet that she is replacing her man with a sweet little puppy:
“Introducing sully bear. So far in our two weeks together he’s become my set best friend, my bowling partner, my nap buddy, mutual water enthusiast, and travel companion.”
He really is cute:
And of course, men in her comments section did their thing…
“We could raise him together.”
“Hey (with dog rizz).”
“I can bark and do tricks.”
“Wish I was her dog.”
“I bark too.”
“She doesn’t know I exist and that’s okay.”
“I wish you’d hold me like that.”
“I wanna be a dog.”
“Guess she chose the dog over a husband.”
“To think he gets to hump your leg and not get told off like I did.”
“Congrats put me on a leash next.”
“I’ve never been so jealous of a dog.”
“Do you need one more dawg perchance?”
“I got that Dawg in me *bark bark*”
“Does he need a dad?”
“Big dog guy here.”
“The post break up glow is crazy.”
“Does he need a father figure?”
Unless your name is Glen Powell, I don’t think Sydney’s going to be having any new dog dads anytime soon, but it certainly makes the comments section fun to read…
