Unhinged Liberals Disgustingly Blame Vice President JD Vance For The Death Of Pope Francis

Says a lot if that’s your first reaction…

The Vatican announced early this morning that Pope Francis had passed away at the age of 88 after suffering from several health battles in previous weeks. Earlier this year, Francis had been hospitalized due to bronchitis and was reportedly in critical condition following an infection and double pneumonia. At one point during his hospital stay, the pope suffered from a bronchial spasm that caused him to inhale vomit and require mechanical ventilation, but he was ultimately able to recover and was discharged on March 23.

Since then, the pope has made limited public appearance and appeared frail in public, though he did make an appearance yesterday on Easter Sunday to meet with Vice President JD Vance just hours before his death.

Born in Argentina as Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Francis was selected as the head of the Catholic church at a papal conclave in 2013 following the resignation of his successor, Pope Benedict.

And during his papacy, Pope Francis brought about a shift in the church from his predecessors, allowing women to serve in more roles in the Catholic church and being much more accepting of the LGBT community than previous popes.

He brought a much more liberal philosophy to the papacy, criticizing capitalism and anti-immigration policies while calling for action on climate change and denouncing the death penalty and the criminalization of homosexuality.

Back in 2016, Francis criticized President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to “build a wall” between the United States and Mexico:

“A person who only thinks about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.”

And just recently, he sent a letter to the bishops of the United States criticizing Trump’s deportations and crackdown on illegal immigration:

“This is not a minor issue: an authentic rule of law is verified precisely in the dignified treatment that all people deserve, especially the poorest and most marginalized. The true common good is promoted when society and government, with creativity and strict respect for the rights of all — as I have affirmed on numerous occasions — welcomes, protects, promotes and integrates the most fragile, unprotected and vulnerable.”

Francis met with President Donald Trump and his wife Melania back in 2017, and in his last appearance before his death, met with Vice President JD Vance just yesterday, on Easter Sunday, at the Vatican.

Vance converted to Catholicism in 2019, and after his death was announced, shared a heartfelt tribute to Pope Francis:

“I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis. My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him. I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill. But I’ll always remember him for the below homily he gave in the very early days of COVID. It was really quite beautiful. May God rest his soul.”

But in a sign of just how terrible people really are, after Pope Francis passed away, liberals immediately began taking to social media to (jokingly, I think?) blame JD Vance for the pope’s death:

Of course in the times we’re living in it’s not really surprising that people are trying to score cheap political points off the pope’s death. But it’s a sad commentary that the first thought people had after his death was to immediately joke about his meeting with the Vice President of the United States.
