Influencer Gets Roasted For Showing Off Nearly $1,000 Nobu Meal At Coachella

Somehow, this still probably didn’t cost as much as the actual festival tickets…

This past weekend, the first part of Coachella Music Festival took place in Indio, California, with a headlining performance on Sunday from Post Malone, which had mixed reviews from some fans who didn’t love how country it was, but more on that HERE.

It’s no secret that tickets to any concert, whether it’s at a small club or for a massive festival like Coachella, are not cheap, and many of the people who went to Coachella reportedly had to finance their tickets to even think about being able to afford going… so spending over $1,000 on a meal was out of the question for most attendees.

But influencer Adelaine Morin shared a vlog of her meal at the Nobu pop-up restaurant on the polo field grounds at Coachella, which according to Morin, doesn’t accept walk-ins and is served Omakase style, which means you don’t even get to pick out what you want to eat… the chef does it for you, she explained in her various TikTok videos:

“The chef picks for you and it’s $350 per person, plus 22% included gratuity. Also, if you show up late, they’ll give you a Bento Box to go, and you can’t even eat it here.”

Showing up a few minutes late to eat extremely overpriced sushi in the desert and then getting sent home with a Bento Box? Yeah, I’ll pass… also included in her vlog was a photo of the receipt from their pricey meal, which after all oft he food, beverages and tip, came out to around $945.

For those who may not know, Nobu is a chain of high-end Japanese restaurants that first started in Los Angeles and New York City. Actor Robert De Niro is a partner and they’re up to like 50 restaurants around the world. To be honest, I think I mostly heard of it from the show The Kardashians because they used to go to the Malibu location all the time… I’m embarrassed to admit I know that, but for the sake of context, I’m willing to share my secrets:

Morin also informed viewers on her TikTok that you get 50 minutes to eat everything, and as you can probably imagine, especially considering all the controversy around the excessive nature of the Blue Origin space flight, people let her have it over the expensive meal when so many people are struggling to get by right now.

It just came across as completely tone-deaf, and while I’m sure that wasn’t her intention, it still doesn’t bode well for her in terms of people’s reaction to the whole thing:

“Soooo relatable I can barely afford groceries these days.”

“Kim, people are dying,”

“Would I ever? Girl I can barely afford rent.”

“Consumerism final boss.”

“Read the room babe.”

“Influencers are insufferable these days.”

“I feel like i’m in ‘The Hunger Games’ or something.”

“Nobu reservation at a music festival is crazy! Bffr.”

“Definitely not worth it…in this economy mhm no.”

“This is insane.”

“You do know that people have been having a hard time buying eggs right babe?”

“Girl none of us can even afford groceries let alone Coachella let alone NOBU AT COACHELLA.”

“That $1000 is staying in the savings account.”

“Cries from district 13…”

“This actually pmo so bad.”

“Meanwhile in the capitol.”

“$350 bento box if ur late LMFAOOOO.”

“$20 on DoorDash is too expensive for me.”

“Consumerism America is baffling because even if you have the money for this, why on earth will you throw it away for a diner that u know its hella overpriced…”

“Girl I can’t even afford the dollar store so.”

“It’s our fault for supporting this

“We’re poor but good for you babe .”

“This has ‘Hunger Games’ written into its bones.”

I mean, it’s her money to do what she wants with it, but like one of the comments said, maybe read the room even a little bit… not everything needs to be on social media, but in 2025, I think I’m in the minority when it comes to 20-something year-old women who think that way. And if you want to put it on there, just be ready to be made fun of.

Attention is the currency these days, and Adelaine certainly got a lot of it, though not necessarily for the right reasons.
