Another case of over promising and under delivering, leading to a mass of angry fans and internet backlash.
The world’s biggest YouTuber and Resorts World hotel in Las Vegas were supposed to team up for “The MrBeast Experience” over the past few days (from April 13th to 15th), but those who actually made the trip to Nevada are sounding the alarms that the entire thing was pretty much a giant flop.
When it was announced earlier this year, Hollywood Reporter noted that guests could book a three night stay and take part in this one-time event, which was to include an exclusive MrBeast “mystery bag” stocked with limited-edition merch and goodies, with one lucky participant taking home a $10,000 prize, along with on-site activations and immersive experiences throughout the Resorts World property, such as exclusive menu items, streams of the best of MrBeast, and themed beverages.
Also, it seems as if it was implied that Jimmy or at least some members of his crew would be around for some of the time to meet and interact with the attendees, though it was never explicitly stated.
Not my cup of tea but hey, I enjoy watching a MrBeast video from time to time and no doubt there would be tons of people interested in coming together around their shared love for internet content.
Well, the experience has now come and gone, so what are people saying about it?
Unsurprisingly, it was a complete flop.
The “limited-edition merch”? Yeah, it was just a bag of randomly sized shirts that are available for purchase on his website right now, some with steep discounts. The goodies? Just a box of Feastables, MrBeast’s chocolate bar brand.
Did Jimmy or any of his team make an appearance? No.
But were there at least things for the people there to do? Also no.
So what was this event? Pretty much a giant nothing burger.
A comment on this Reddit post summarized one attendee’s experience:
“I was there for it. Nothing happened for the first two days – the welcome gift was a box of chocolate bars and the mystery bag was four shirts in random sizes (ours were two XXS, one M, one L), a pair of XXL shorts, and a hat. Nobody at RW had a clue what else was going on. It feels like the employees were only told about the mystery bag, but nobody at the restaurants knew about the “activations” or any schedule of events (which there weren’t any).
It was advertised as an “immersive experience” but aside from a gift bag and a channel on the TV showing the MrBeast logo when you turned it on, it was a flop.
They offered us a $50 pool credit on day three (which we didn’t bring swimsuits so we didn’t use) and a $50 credit to their sports bar tonight, which is 21+ and we have a kid with us so that was out too. Ended up just leaving this morning.”
A travel blogger named Random Recess also documented the entire thing on his socials. His a video of a group of attendees gathered around and gave a piece of their mind to Resorts World CEO:

First point, why is it a bunch of adults that went to a MrBeast experience? I though it would be kids… Granted, maybe the kids were at the pool and these were just angry parents but still, most of the videos and comments I’ve seen are from adults. As a culture, we’ve taken this “pretend to be a child and you never really grow up” thing way too far.
But I also do feel for them. Vegas, especially at these big resort casinos, is not cheap in the slightest. Most people paid around $1,000 for the hotel rooms alone, not to mention all the other over-priced things they had to do when no activations materialized.
Fortunately, it appears MrBeast and Resorts World are trying to make things right…
Jimmy has been reaching out to the attendees and is inviting them to take a tour of his studio. People have also started receiving full refunds for their stay, which is wild considering how little these hotels generally care about their guests despite putting on the airs of luxury service.
Just got word that we are receiving a full refund for the bungled @MrBeast experience @ResortsWorldLV. Big of them to do this for us, thank you! pic.twitter.com/NNqg3Cb46S

I guess if you got a free Vegas trip out of the deal, than maybe it’s all worth it? Who knows… Maybe we just don’t participate in things like this moving forward, yeah?
Or on second thought, go ahead and keep doing it… this is America after all and maybe the next one will be really killer.
