Bunnie Xo is speaking on her IVF journey.
Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll are taking steps to create their own child, and she’s been so transparent with fans about her IVF journey after Jelly Roll spoke on Bussin’ With The Boys that their wanting to conceive was a huge factor for him losing weight. After Jelly touched on the topic, Bunnie then took to social media, sharing that although they initially planned on doing it privately, they both decided to open up to their followers about this journey.
“We had planned on doing this privately, but decided our IVF journey needed to be shared because we’ve always been so open. And with all odds stacked against us, it’s already been hard & we have only just begun.
We have been meeting with IVF doctors and exploring all of our options to add to our family.
J & I are SO excited & scared all at the same time. We genuinely never thought we’d want to add to our family but something changed this year & we both just want a piece of us together to add to our already perfect family with Bailee and Noah.”
Bunnie Xo has touched on their journey here and there during other videos where the main topic is something different. She recently shared a video of herself coming out of anesthesia after an IVF procedure, which one would assume was an egg retrieval procedure. Bunnie captioned the video, “We’re making babies,” signifying to fans that this procedure was a part of the process, not an emergency surgery.

After the procedure, Bunnie Xo sits in her podcast room and speaks on the topic. She starts off the viral social media clip by noting that she’s still going to keep specific details of her journey private. She shares how thankful she is to have opened up some and is grateful for the support from other women who have been through the process or are going through it simultaneously.
“When I was going through this, I realized how lonely of a journey IVF is. It’s very lonely. Granted, you have people surrounding you, and hopefully, when you’re going through it, you have friends and family who love you and know you’re going through it. But at the same time, it’s just you and these f**king hormones, and the waiting and the egg retrieval, and you’re the only person who can go through that, you know?”
Bunnie then says that IVF medicines are like a “slot machine in Vegas.” What combo might work for some women will not work for others, so you are gambling a little, hoping it all goes smoothly during the first round of IVF so you don’t have to put your body through it again.
Bunnie notes that she had hoped that she would have a successful first round of IVF, although she knew that it would more than likely not be that way.
“I don’t want to say that I was blind like, ‘Oh, I’ll do on retrieval, and it’s going to be perfect.’ No, I didn’t think that, I never thought that, but I had hope.”
While Bunnie has an incredible team of doctors at the Tennessee Fertility Institute, she shared with listeners that the first doctor she worked with was not as understanding and did not have a good bedside manner.
“I was working with a clinic in New York. A very prestigious clinic. A well-known doctor. They were nice at first.
We ran into a couple of problems that I didn’t expect. He didn’t really communicate with me the way that I was hoping did. And granted the dude’s already rich as f**k off of making babies for people.
I get it; he doesn’t care. But when you’re going through this, you want to feel like your doctor cares. He never made a phone call to me, he just gave me these test results over the phone and was pretty much like, ‘Yep, there’s nothing I can do for you, but I’ll send you to another doctor to take care of it.’ And I was like, ‘This is going to set us back because I asked you about this three weeks ago.’ I said, ‘I really feel like we dropped the ball here.’ Not being mean, but just like, hey, I’m trying to communicate.
This f**king doctor flipped out on me. ‘Dropped the ball? Dropped the ball??!!” Like question mark, question mark, exclamation, exclamation. Just like screaming at me over text message. Literally lost his ever-loving mind on me, and I was just like, ‘Okay.’ That’s all I said back, like I am not going to argue with this man.
I am so thankful I ended up not doing my IVF with him because I would have felt like 1) just a number and 2) like he has a temper problem.”
Drop the name, Bunnie…
While she’s thankful she did not go with that doctor, Bunnie then shares that the clinic she’s been working with has been fantastic in so many ways and supportive of her throughout this process. She shared that this last cycle was a “cakewalk” for her and that she felt like her body responded to the medication super well before going in for her egg retrieval.
Bunnie ends the update on a positive note, letting any women going through this process as well know that they are not alone.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that Bunnie and Jelly Roll receive after her egg retrieval and will be blessed with their own bundle of joy in the future.
