Country music is headed to the Windy City, along with plenty of other big acts from genres across the spectrum.
Today, Lollapalooza announced their massive lineup, which includes country superstar Luke Combs as one of the headliners, along with Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler, The Creator, Sabrina Carpenter, RÜFÜS DU SOL, TWICE, A$AP Rocky and Korn as the other headliners.
In addition, there will be performances by Gracie Abrams, Doechii, Dom Dolla, Djo, The Marías, Martin Garrix, Cage The Elephant, Clairo, and many more, including several other country acts. Sierra Ferrell, Ole 60, Willow Avalon, The Droptines, Tanner Adell and Colby Acuff are all slated to perform at Chicago’s Grant Park, and it’s a great group representing the country genre for what’s likely going to be a lot of people who think “they hate country.” I feel certain that will change after hearing all of them.
The huge festival takes place on July 31st through August 3rd, with more than 170 artists on eight stages making for four full days of all kinds of music.
Tickets for the four-day event will go on-sale to the general public on Thursday, March 20th, and Luke Combs will actually make history as Lolla’s first-ever country closer, which is pretty neat… he always put on a helluva show, so I’m sure this will be no different in terms of bringing the high-energy country to fans in Chicago.
Of course, with the lineup being so varied, many fans will be there to hear the other mega star headliners like Sabrina Carpenter, for example, but I think Luke will probably leave with plenty of new fans too. If you’re in the area, it’s really a great lineup, especially in terms of the headliners, so it’s looking to be another great year, as Lollapalooza is known for always doing a great job with everyone they choose.

Luke spent the beginning of this year touring overseas in Australia and New Zealand, where he teased several new, unreleased songs like “Pushin’ Up Daisies” and “Wish Upon a Whiskey.” Luke put out a special project called Fathers & Sons last year that gave a neat peak into his life as a dad to two young boys and his relationship with his own dad, as well.
With him teasing new music, it seems likely that he might even be working on a new album for sometime this year, and hopefully we’ll know something sooner rather than later, especially with this huge festival appearance coming up this summer.
