Zach Top has some new music and is on the horizon SOON. The Washington native flew into the limelight last year with the release of his debut record, Cold Beer & Country Music. The record not only solidified that ZT was the real deal but also proved that his sound would spark another revival of that classic ’90s country sound.
However, Top wants his fans to know that he never wanted to be a ’90s gimmick act and still does not strive for that. He grew up listening to many of the same artists the ’90s legends did, so he feels his sound was influenced by similarity to theirs.
“Obviously, I’ve got sonically, a reminiscent sort of thing going on from the ’90s stuff. But I kind of… I feel like I cut my teeth on the same kind of stuff the ’90s guys cut theirs on.
For one thing, I’m honored that people see me as sort of a spearhead or a leader back towards traditional country music or country music the way that I feel in love with it and, you know, still love. It’s a fun spot to be in, and I think it’s a lot of just the right place at the right time sort of thing.”
Even country music legends love what the CMA-nominated artist is doing in the studio praising him as the next big face of country music.
“After a long long time of thinking that my kind of country music was gone forever, I FINALLY HAVE HOPE! That hope is ZACH TOP! He’s single-handedly bringing real country music back. GEORGE JONES would call him the real deal!”
Talk about a compliment that will stay with him throughout his career…
Since the release of his debut record, the “I Never Lie” singer has been one of the hottest up-and-coming names. Top constantly sells out show after show and hopes to hit some small arenas later this year as he announces more tour dates.
Just as Top is not slowing down his time on the road, he is also not slowing down the momentum with his music. He shared during a Spotify x Houston Rodeo question-and-answer session that he is gearing up to start rolling out his sophomore record.
You heard that right, NEW MUSIC IS ON THE HORIZON.
“I just went in and tracked a few more songs to finish out the second record. So we got that finished up and are getting it mixed right now. It’ll come out at some point in the summer. I’m not sure exactly when yet, but there will be a new record coming this summer.”
The host of the Q&A session then said:
“Music to our ears!”
Amen to that.
I’m ready to sit by the pool or lake all summer blasting Top’s new music, so I hope we get a single or two earlier in the summer if the record is slated for a late summer release to enjoy.
2025 is shaping up to be a great year for country music, and we still have a lot of the calendar year left.
