Unlike her sister Dolly Parton, Stella Parton doesn’t hold back when it comes to publicly talking politics.
Over the years, she’s spoken out many times on her political views, specifically on her hatred for President Trump and many of his policies. Stella has many times defended Dolly online as well, using choice words when Elle King botched her Opry performance to honor Dolly, and also defended her sister when she received criticism for dressing as a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader during her Thanksgiving Day performance in 2023.
But this morning (in addition to sending out some tweets late last night), Stella went on an epic rant on X about the current state of politics, saying that the “bullying is sickening” and she believes there are “sociopathic people in charge” of this country, referencing President Trump.
She added that she feels like “a sewer truck just emptied itself” on the highway and now “every single on of us has to drive through it”:
“I was busy over the weekend but tried to watch a bit of morning news to get a perspective! It’s as nauseating as ever. Commenting on the things going on is unbelievable but it’s worse than we can even comment on.
The bullying is sickening and the spew from the mouths of these sociopathic people in charge is stomach turning every hour of every day. God only knows how this will play out. So how do you feel about it trying to start a new week? I feel like a sewer truck just emptied itself on the highway and every single one of us has to drive through it!”

She also notably called out President Trump for his calling out of Maine Governor Janet Mills last week when she pushed back on his orders to keep biological men out of women’s sports.
Stella called it “unbecoming” the way he spoke to her in front of so many politicians at a luncheon, and also specifically called out “evangelicals” for letting America become so “toxic”:
“How unbecoming of a leader of any country even a sh*thole country to get up and bully a female, much less a governor of the state of Maine! How unsavory for said leader to change his lie from one day to the next concerning Ukraine! Really Americans! Really Republicans? This is sickening but it does show those of us still in touch with reality how toxic America has become. How sick and twisted can we be? Especially the Evangelicals!”

Stella clearly isn’t a fan of DOGE head Elon Musk either, explaining she thought that it was “sick and twisted” to see him wielding a chainsaw onstage that was a gift from Argentina’s President Javier Milei, who met Elon at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last week. Elon brought it out for the crowd to see, and Stella didn’t like that too much… she also doesn’t seem to approve of his multiple baby mama’s and that whole situation:
“The bazaar antics of Elon Musk with that chain saw was as sick and twisted as him having multiple children with multiple women. Is he impotent? Is that why he keeps paying women to carry his spawn?”

She continued on calling out Elon, criticizing the recent orders from Elon and DOGE that every government employee must send five bullet points to their managers of what they got done last week, due by tonight at Midnight:
“Since when did Americans have to answer to Elon Musk in order to stay employed? Does anyone else find this to be the epitome of arrogance to have to justify yourself and your employment to a man who is not your boss?”

Stella also noted that she isn’t worried about Dolly fans and what they think, saying that if she did, she would not be alive today:
“If I cared what strangers or my sisters fans thought of me I would not be alive today. Whatever you think of me is none of my business. However, if you decide to quote me and use my sister simultaneously, f*** off. I don’t care where you work or what news outlet it may be that pays your salary.”

Dolly famously stays very much out of politics, and has turned down the Presidential Medal of Freedom from both Republican and Democrat Presidents in order to stay neutral. She obviously has opinions like everyone one else, but like Stella says in another tweet, is “smart enough not to speak out” because it would only leave her fans divided… well, Stella said it a little bit differently than I just did, but you get the point.
In the tweet below, Stella is referencing a Newsweek article that reported on some of her tweets, as well as talking about Dolly’s stance on publicly speaking on politics:
“My sister is smart enough not to speak out about the sh*t show we’ve been enduring for the past decade but Newsweek is trying to pull her into my political activism. WTF. I take full responsibility for myself and my actions and she and I never discuss politics! Such BS from the new out lets to try dragging her into the mud I roll around in over here on X. Cheap if you ask me.”

They go on like this, and there’s plenty more where all of this came from if you’re interested in Stella Parton’s musings on the current state of American politics… honestly, she should probably take her sister’s advice on keeping political opinions private, or at least taking a few deep breathes and putting together a more tempered argument that’s much less emotional, but I guess that’s what X is for…
“I’ve appointed my snarky a** self to give a perspective as much as possible as long as possible, realizing I may be kicked off of every platform for simply telling the truth. This is my form of resistance!

“I don’t know what is worse those in charge or the media outlets who are enabling them to keep us hanging on every word like drug addicts looking for our next fix.”
