Morgan Wallen Previews “Superman,” The First Song He’s Ever Shared About His Son: “None Of Them Ever Feel Good Enough”

Morgan Wallen wrote one for his son.

Morgan Wallen’s forthcoming record, I’m The Problem, will feature a lot of new music, and Wallen is not holding back from previewing songs that might appear on the album’s tracklist.

While the album was announced with his 2025 stadium tour sharing the same name, many of the album’s details have remained secret. Fans have been gifted with the title single, “I’m The Problem,” where Wallen reflects on a toxic relationship in which he felt like he was being blamed for everything. His partner could never take ownership of her wrongdoings. While Wallen has written many songs about his past relationship where he feels like he’s fallen short, today, he previewed a new single that fans hope appears on I’m The Problem, showing a more vulnerable side to the Tennessee native.

Previewing a snippet of a track titled “Superman,” Morgan Wallen noted that this song has been a long time coming. He’s always wanted to write a song for his son, Indigo Wilder; however, it took Wallen a long time to find the right words for the tune:

“Been trying for a long time to write a song I loved to my son. None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be. And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it. Here is a clip; It’s called ‘Superman.'”

Fans instantly fell in love with the teaser of “Superman,” with many dads relating to the vulnerable lyrics. In the shared portion of the track, Wallen admits to his son that he’s far from a perfect person and knows there are times when he is out of line. However, despite his actions, he loves his son unconditionally and hopes that he will always appear as “Superman” in his eyes:

“One day you’re gonna see my mug shot
From a night where I got a little too drunk
Hear a song about a girl that I lost,
From the times where I just wouldn’t grow up
And when you ain’t a kid no more
I hope you don’t think less of me
I try to hide my falling short
But you’re gonna see
Now and then that bottle’s my crib tonight
Brings a man still down to his knees
Don’t always know my wrong from right
Sometimes, I’m my own worst enemy
No, I don’t always save the day
But you know for you I’ll always try
I do the best I can
But Superman’s just a man sometimes.”

Man… those words were probably hard for Wallen to sing, as no father wants to let their kid down, and you can hear in these words that he’s worried about that.

It goes without saying, but Morgan Wallen has not exactly had the “cleanest” track record when it comes to what we’ll call “off the field incidents” to use a sports analogy. However, it feels like he’s entering a new chapter and trying to change for the better. “Superman” shows that he hopes to be a better man and especially, a better father, for his son, being an example for him and not someone he’s ashamed of as he gets older.

Check it out.

Fans instantly begged for this song to be released and for more details about his upcoming record. Check out a few of the comments while you’re here.
