Grab your tissues if father-daughter songs move you because Jon Pardi has another tearjerker in the pipeline for us softies. Jon Pardi is teasing another tune from his forthcoming record, Honkytonk Hollywood, one that he says is a favorite from the album.

Pardi has already gifted fans with a few songs that are slated to appear on the tracklist, like the title single, “Honkytonk Hollywood,” “Friday Night Heartbreaker,” and the flirty ballad, “Love The Lights Out.” But along with those tracks highlighting what’s in store for the record, he’s also previewing many unreleased songs across his social media platforms.

He initially shared a few lines leading into the chorus and chorus of the Las Vegas-inspired track “Gamblin’ Man,” which I said I needed to hear more of ASAP. The catchy tune tells the story of a man who has a gambling problem, but he warns the woman he’s with that regardless of his habits, she should not roll the dice on him as he has a very hit-or-miss kind of love.

The precautionary tale will be instantly stuck in your head.

However, Jon Pardi shared another preview of an unreleased song yesterday that I might need in my life more than I need “Gamblin’ Man.” In honor of his daughter Presley’s second birthday yesterday, he shared a snippet of a tender song, “She Drives Away.”

“Can’t believe Presley is 2!!! No one is lying when they say it goes by quick! Happy birthday, baby girl. Here is a little teaser of one of my favorite songs off the new album.”

As Pardi and his wife, Summer, welcomed their second baby girl into the world last year, I knew that we were bound to get some sweet songs inspired by his daughters at some point, and Pardi delivered with the promise of “She Drives Away” being on his forthcoming record.

The snippet of the track is paired with many sweet moments of Presley with her father as she’s grown up over the last two years, which perfectly pairs with the lyrics that start when she was born in hospital “room 203.”

“Now I’ve been up all night
In room 203
It’s like they took out my heart
And wrapped it in pink
Yeah, it all just kind of hit me
Put tears on my face
Ain’t even got her in the car seat
And I’m dreading the day
When she drives away…”

The rest of the teaser highlights sweet words from Pardi, who feels like he hasn’t been able to catch his breath in the best way since his daughter entered the world. When she turns 16, it will only feel like they brought her home yesterday.

Any father dreads thinking about the day that his little girl might not be his little girl anymore, and this is another excellent father-daughter song added to the list of existing tearjerkers. Something about dads singing about their love for their daughters will always tug at my heartstrings, and Pardi did just that through his sweet lyrics.

I can’t wait to hear this one in full on April 11th when Honkytonk Hollywood drops.

Check it out.
