Courtney Patton Releases Masterfully Written & Deeply Personal New Record ‘Carry You With Me’

Courtney Patton

Courtney Patton is a criminally underrated songwriter, and her brand new record is proof.

Those who are familiar with her music are sure to agree with me, but for anyone who is not, look no further than Carry You With Me to see for yourself. Having written or co-written every song on the album, the record features 10 deftly written and deeply personal tracks that dive into Patton’s own life and act as a testament to her songwriting maturity.

Released last Friday during one of the major events on the calendar for the  Texas/Red Dirt scene, Mile 0 Fest, Patton celebrated the Carry You With Me album release with some of her biggest fans and amongst countless friends form the scene in Key West, Florida. A worthy culmination of songwriting and recording efforts from one of the most well respected songwriters in Texas.

Patton took to Instagram just before the album dropped to share with her fans how important this record is to her.

“This record comes out at this time tomorrow night. I wrote or co-wrote every song. I took the picture on the cover. I grew up and learned more about life and myself while creating this album. I worked with some of my favorite people on every aspect of making this thing. I’m proud.

I hope you’ll listen wherever you stream music and share it with people if it resonates with you. Thank you all for supporting me for all these years. I am so grateful, always.”

As if her own songwriting prowess weren’t enough, the co-writes on Patton’s album feature some of the best in the business, including Kelley Mickwee, Brent Cobb, Jason Eady, and Adam Hood. Produced by Austin, TX based musician Trevor Nealon, Carry You With Me features a subtly powerful, stripped-back sound that bolsters Patton’s impressive vocals and the lyricism in her music.

Patton began rolling out the album with release of the debut single “What Is Done Will Be Repeated” in November of 2024, followed by the title track “Carry You With Me” the next month.

Here’s a few of my early favorites from Carry You With Me:

“Can’t Remember How To Smile”

“Carry You With Me”

“Wasn’t Me Making You Blue”

Patton, who has been a songwriting force for well over a decade now, released her debut album Triggering A Flood in 2013, and now, following the 2022 release of Electrostatic and the more recent Carry You With Me her deep catalog boasts six full length records that act as a testimony to her lyrical prowess.

And if you’re in Texas in then you’re in luck, because Patton has a handful of tour dates scheduled across the Lone Star State in the next several months. If you live elsewhere, though, be on the lookout for more tour announcements.

Patton toured nationally in support of her last album Electrostatic, so maybe she’ll hit the road again for Carry You With Me.
