Theo Von is admitting he was wrongly pointing fingers.
During President Trump’s Inauguration, everyone was dialed in on the ceremony except for Theo Von, who was on the floor. Theo Von is always giving fans perfectly timed (or imperfectly) comedic moments.
While Theo Von had multiple viral moments from Inauguration Day, like telling Conor McGregor to keep his hands off Logan and Jake Paul’s mom while riding to the United States Capital, Chair Gate is occupying headlines days after the incident. Who would have thought a chair collapsing mid-transition of power would be so entertaining?
During the ceremony, a video went viral of Theo Von’s chair crashing to the ground during Trump’s speech right after he was sworn into office. Jake Paul, who was seated right behind Von, caught the entire moment on camera. He and those seated around Von, like Danica Patrick, looked truly concerned at Von as he sat on top of his broken chair on the floor.

After the video took off on social media, Von addressed the situation, noting that it was not an accident and the Paul brothers messed with his chair, causing it to collapse.
“Wasn’t an accident. Paul kids thought it was funny to mess with the chair. There’s a time and a place ya know. L.”
After Von shared this information, many people began to take shots at the Paul brothers, noting how classless it was to pull pranks during such a serious event. Theo Von’s statement also checked out, given that Jake had his phone out filming it all as it unfolded. X even added a community note to the viral video that the Pauls messed with his chair, causing it to collapse.
But as the Paul brothers were taking heat, the plot thickens again as it appears Theo Von misspoke and was given incorrect information that it was the Paul brothers’ fault for his tumble.
“Spoke to Logan Paul this morning and believe now I was wrong abt the chair carnage being because of anything they did. I coulda communicate better/not listened to ops. My apologies to the Pauls.
I get super suspect when there is vlogging going on bc it feels like you’re being set up. Otherwise had a honestly great time hanging with them and their Mom. Fair play.”

While Von is admitting he pointed fingers too soon regarding the fiasco; social media isn’t convinced the Paul brothers don’t have some blood on their hands.
Given the Pauls are notorious for pranking folks, they were vlogging during the event when most attendees were not even on their phones, and the chaos it created, people think they are denying it because they couldn’t take the heat coming their way.
Ya – I think their vlogging makes them defacto guilty – and ‘if you know the Pauls’ this is their MO (and to deny it after as well).
I wouldn’t discuss it anymore – and I wouldn’t have apologized.. I actually like Jake, but they deserve this heat, guilty or not.

He vlogged the whole thing even if they didn’t set up the chair. To get a whole ass view of Theo on the ground instead of putting the camera down is what’s disrespectful

They just happen to be filming you at the time. They just happen to have a seat ready for you after that one failed. They're the type of guys who would do that. Also the first intuition of people in a situation like that is not to bust out laughing. It was planned dude

While I agree that if this was an accident, it’s unfortunate that it happened to Von. But if this were planned, it was not the time or place to pull a stunt like this.
Poor Theo, at this point, he wants his name cleared and for folks to know that he’s capable of being serious.
