That’s a wrap.
Landman Season 1 is officially in the books, and while I won’t get into any real specific spoilers, well… sorta… if you don’t want to know anything about the season finale, you might just want to scroll on through.
By all accounts, the latest Taylor Sheridan show has been a smashing success and it’s poised to really become one of his most successful. Demi Moore all but confirmed that Season 2 was on the way, however, we haven’t technically heard an official announcement yet. Believe me… it’s coming. Paramount+ isn’t going to lose out on those streaming numbers.
And as much I like Landman, sometimes it feels like the plot focuses too much around the mom and daughter (played by Ali Larter and Michelle Randolph respectively), and the son’s weird love story. But for me, give me Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) and the big oil drama… the cartels, the executive power players, the drilling, even the legal drama… give me more of that.
And that’s exactly what the season finale did (well, minus the dumb strip club scene)… but, Taylor Sheridan and company did you one better. They finally brought in Andy Garcia.
Of course, it shouldn’t necessarily be a surprise that Andy Garcia made an appearance in Landman, he was revealed to be part of the cast in May when the details for the show were being revealed. At the time, he was described as playing the role of “Galino, an extremely capable, powerful and practical man.”
Yep… seems like it.
But it seemed like most fans didn’t quite remember the Andy Garcia announcement (I didn’t remember it myself and I write about this show all the time), because they went bonkers when he was finally revealed… right at the very end. It was a pretty intense scene, one that really calls for an acting heavyweight like Garcia, an Academy Award-nominated movie legend.
And just the way they revealed him… fans went nuts for it:

And what we’re all thinking right now… there better be more of it:
Same! It took me until he started talking to be sure, his voice is unmistakable. There better be a season 2 with more Andy Garcia in it. Amazing show.

Stay tuned… it feels like this show is just getting started.
