2024 was a stellar year for music.
While there were many releases over the years and countless lists that we could make recapping all of the singles, records, EPs, and memorable moments throughout the year, 2024 was another year jam-packed with fantastic country music moments.
While we can sit here and talk about what singles we resonated with, we all know that with the rise of social media, it’s clear that songs resonate more among fans than others. With TikTok being such a widely used social media platform, it’s an excellent place for artists to test out songs to see how fans will react to a new song. In many cases, labels will make their artists push singles across social media, hoping to create a viral moment before the single hits streaming platforms.
2024 contained many of these viral moments, and I feel like it’s only right to revisit some of them as we look back on the year. Because, let’s also face it, without the fans adoring these songs, they would not be viral moments, so also give yourself a pat on the back if a song you loved made this list. You might be part of the reason it’s viral.
So, let’s dive into some of this year’s best viral hits.
Ella Langley & Riley Green – “You Look Like You Love Me”
This CMA Award-winning duo has to be mentioned. Some might think that this song is the song of the year, as Riley Green And Ella Langley captured the hearts of fans with this charming love song. Their thick southern drawl is addicting to the ears, and this most definitely went viral this year.
At the time of writing, their single has 786.5k videos underneath the sound.
Zach Bryan – “Pink Skies”
Belle Frantz – “The Grand Tour”
Belle Frantz has had many viral songs this year, but her most recent is her cover of George Jones’ “The Grand Tour.” This year, some of her other viral singles include her cover of Conway Twitty’s “Hello Darlin'” and many other country classics. Since discovering Belle Frantz, if I’m firing up a country cover, it will likely be hers. She is an old soul in a young body as she portrays the soul that all the original artists conveyed in the original recordings of these songs.
Her big hair and thick twangs sell the old-timey vibe of her sound, and it’s all-around incredible. If you aren’t listening to Belle Frantz, you need to change that.
Hudson Westbrook – “5 to 9”
Gavin Adcock – “Run Your Mouth”
The song that has been Gavin Adcock’s anthem all year long. The wild child of country music released his sophomore record, Actin’ Up Again, and one of the most viral songs off that tracklist is his full-throttle tune, “Run Your Mouth.”
Many of Adcock’s fans made videos on TikTok with the sound this year after hilariously catching that “Let’s keep a lead foot heavy on the pedal” does not make sense, given your drive with your right foot. Regardless, it’s a certified heater of a tune and leaves you feeling like you could run through a wall.
Zach Top – “I Never Lie”
Even though Zach Top didn’t expect “I Never Lie” to be a viral hit for him, or a hit at all, there’s no denying that if you opened social media and a Zach Top song was being used for a post, it was going to be this one.
“It’s funny. That’s either favorite or second favorite song on the record, for me. But I wasn’t expecting that one to be the one that kind of takes off and be the ‘hit’ so to speak of the whole thing. It’s cool.”
Ty Myers – “End Of The Earth”
Braxton Keith “Cozy”
Gabriella Rose “Doublewide”
Gabriella Rose’s “Doublewide” might be a late contender to the viral 2024 songs party, but don’t let the fact she posted a video of this track on November 14th fool you. “Doublewide” might be THE viral hit of the year.
The country twang has gained 41 MILLION views at the time of writing since its posting date, and nearly 40k people have made videos using the raw work track that went viral. Since Rose released the viral sensation as a single, it has gained over 3 million streams on Spotify alone.
And the obvious one… of course, the “country” part is up for debate:
Shaboozey – “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”
