Get this girl a record deal ASAP.
Of course, TikTok has become a huge music discovery tool for fans of all different genres, and while I certainly have my own personal opinions about the quality of its viral stars, it has been good for a lot of up and coming artists who might’ve never had a chance in the music business otherwise.
I don’t want to get too far into that discussion here, because the real story is so much cooler. I was scrolling on the app yesterday, and my algorithm served me with a video that I absolutely needed to see.
There’s a young artist named Belle Frantz, who posts videos covering so many amazing classic country songs, with a voice that’s like a cross between Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline, with maybe a dash of Dolly in there too.
It’s eerily similar to those country queens, and she truly sounds like she’s from another time and generation (and I mean that in the best way possible).
One of the songs she’s covered a few times, and has millions of views in total on from a few different videos, is Conway Twitty’s 1970 hit “Hello Darlin’.” Her voice is so incredibly rich and striking, and the first time I heard her sing it was easy to understand how she’s starting to go viral.
I’m sure she has original music too, but wow… these covers with knock your socks off, to use an expression. Do yourself a favor and check them out, she’s an incredible vocalist:

Here’s some of George Jones’ “The Grand Tour”:

And some Patsy Cline, of course:

Obviously, my opinion is that you can never go wrong with a little Dolly, either:
