Jelly Roll Receives A Ton Of Backlash For Defending Photo With “Coolest, Most Comfortable Dude” Jack Black

Maybe it wasn’t the Ozzy performance after all…

Jelly Roll really got people fired up when he said he’s leaving Twitter/X the other day because of the “toxic negative” backlash he’d been receiving recently. Obviously, Jelly Roll being a love him or hate him figure is nothing new, but it felt like something big had to have happened for him to reach this breaking point.

I initially thought it was due to the negative comments on his performance of Ozzy Osborne’s “Mama I’m Coming Home” at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday night, which was pretty objectively not his finest work.

But it turns out there was a lot more hate directed his way due to a picture posted from earlier that night…

Jelly posted a photo of him with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, lead singer of Tool and Puscifer Maynard James Keenan, and other musicians, including Jack Black, which is where this controversy stems from.

You may recall that Black’s fellow Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass found himself in the middle of a firestorm after a video of him making an unacceptable comment just days after President Trump was nearly assassinated during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

It was his birthday and when he was told to make a wish, he said:

“Don’t miss Trump next time”

While their tour was cancelled and Black released a statement to distance himself from Gass’ comment, safe to say people have not forgiven him.

Adding to the Jack Black distain, especially in this picture, is the fact that he’s wearing red shoes. Apparently, there’s a conspiracy that celebrities wear red shoes to show they are part of an elite society of pedophiles that kidnap, traffic, rape, and kill young children.

Between those two things, it’s probably safe to say that this is the “toxic negative” hate he was receiving online. Although, I imagine the comments about the performance didn’t help either… when you’re getting backlash over a photo and you’re getting it from the performance, it’s probably enough to make most people wanna check out.

Just take a look at some of these comments:

And there’s plenty more where those came from…

Jelly responded to the initial comments about Jack, saying he was cool dude after they spent 10 hours together, which probably prompted even further backlash. So it’s not hard to see why Jelly wants to stay off Twitter because that would surely be tough to read about yourself.
