With Halloween right around the corner, I’ve started to see more photos showing up of people’s Halloween costumes, and I’m generally a fan of the holiday and getting to dress up.
And of course, there’s always plenty of fans who take the opportunity to dress up as their favorite country artists, but this one might take the cake this year already…
A fan named Lexie shared an amazing costume on TikTok that featured an Ella Langley and Riley Green-inspired couple’s costume that looks almost identical to their outfits in the “You Look Like You Love Me” music video.
It’s become a wildly popular hit, and you can’t even get on Instagram or TikTok and scroll very far even still without hearing part of the song and in today’s world, that actually means a lot. In terms of the actual song, Ella wrote most of it with Aaron Ratiere, while Riley came up with the words for his second verse.
The cool, sort of vintage and throwback sound is thanks to the multiple speaking parts that are very much Johnny Cash-style, which has clearly resonated, and lyrically, it’s fun to hear Ella walking up to a cute cowboy at the bar making the first move in a bit of a role reversal from the typical country song.
The video is super fun too, that finds Riley and Ella meeting in an old-timey saloon in another time and place. I thought the costumes were some of the best parts of the very well-done video that fans seemed to really enjoy, so I very much appreciate the creativity with this costume.
I’m sure there are still plenty of couple’s looking for a creative costume, and honestly, even the Ella costume is relatively simple if you can get your hands on a red corset, black flowy skirt and black feather hair piece (Amazon to the rescue).
