A little taste of the new album.
Cleto Cordero and the boys of Flatland Cavalry are gearing up for a new record, Flatland Forever, that is essentially a greatest hits record with a little something extra. In addition to hits from each their stellar studio projects, Humble Folks, Homeland Insecurity, Welcome To Countryland, and Wandering Star, as well as their two EPs, Come May and Songs To Keep You Warm, the project will also offer 4 new songs, some alternate versions of previously released tracks and commentary from the band to spotlight the various seasons of their career.
And our first look at one of those new track is one called “Three Car Garage,” which ultimately got scrapped from their debut EP, Come May.
“The song ‘Three Car Garage’ never got a chance to make it on the ‘Come May’ album because ultimately it’s just a song about a garage and it didn’t fit the emotional characteristics of the other songs.
However, it’s really special and important to me because our whole band got started in a garage. I remember just sitting out there skipping class, writing songs and drinking beer. This one came to me in a moment and the band always loved playing it, and I’m so grateful we finally get a chance to record it.”
A celebration of a decade of music from the West Texas band, Flatland Forever, is set for release on November 8th.
Hailing from Texas, Flatland Cavalry is comprised of Cleto Cordero (vocals, acoustic guitar), Jason Albers (drums, percussion), Jonathan Saenz (
Since their debut, Flatland Cavalry has released two EPs and four full-length studio albums.
