Standing by her man.
Obviously the big news in the country music world this past week has been the lawsuit filed against Garth Brooks accusing the superstar singer of sexual assault and rape.
The complaint was filed by a makeup artist and hairstylist who previously worked for Garth’s wife, Trisha Yearwood, before eventually going to work for Garth while she claims she was struggling financially.
The graphic lawsuit accuses the singer of walking out of the shower with an erection while she was at his house and escalating sexual assault that eventually led to him raping her in a hotel room while the two were on a trip to Los Angeles for a performance. And she also claims that Garth expressed his interest in having a threesome with the woman and Trisha.
Garth has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming that they’re an attempt to extort him out of “millions of dollars” and that they describe “behavior he is incapable of.”
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.
Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of – ugly acts no human should ever do to another.
We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.
I want to play music tonight. I want to continue our good deeds going forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”
And while the singer denies the allegations, his wife Trisha Yearwood has yet to speak out on the pending lawsuit. I mean, not that she really has to, but obviously one of the questions on everybody’s mind would be how she felt about it all, especially given that she knows both parties pretty well.
While she hasn’t spoken out, it seems that Trisha is making her position clear based on her latest post on Twitter.
In her first post since news of the lawsuit broke, Trisha delivered a simple message seemingly in support of her husband, along with a photo of the two on stage:

Trisha (probably smartly) turned off replies on the post, but it seems like she’s standing by her man through his legal battle…or just trying to tweet through it until it’s resolved.
